-those dudes are now on the average of 300g s, only a very few 500g can be spotted.

They explained last year about not selling runts. :-P

-I bought 1200 juveniles.
-Paid initial deposit and was told to hold on for 2weeks, that turned more than 2 Weeks apparently. Balanced my payment a day before the batch got sent.
-I always make sure I pump water every 48 hours, at least. I use earthen pond.

With earthen ponds d fishes should perform better than Concrete or mobile ponds. For the agreement it is a fault. My point on issues here isn't on d pulling,but bring your facts & those involved should clarify. Even at this point of discuss, those that are knowledgable would be able to discern the truth, one is d cp couldnt be accurate concerning d feed,whether it performs or not,could only be sincerely given by those that use it.for the seeds,i intentional called others so that there could be more enlightenment on fish seeds from gurus,experts,farmers etc.

i use to be in igando,now ibadan. Presently doing PG outside ibadan. From my previous post i called on gurus in d house, so a bit of education could be done on fish seeds. It isn't d name that count i.e its d paternal & maternal traits of what is use that influences result mostly. Hybrid is good,but delicate & how many could vouch if Pure Dutch? Still continue to reach out to d op or anyone that could assure you that stories isn't an option. Looking for cheap seeds could be costly at times

I've been away frm nairaland agric section for a while and hardly comment due to my very busy schedule lately; just decided to check agric section today and comment since my bro excelsior mentioned me.
RUNTS..... From the perspective of where u take it from, could mean several things. I will just speak generally.
Runts could be caused by the farmer, for example not feeding well (especially when still young), poor water mgt, poor selection of broodstock etc. Or it could be inherent in d fish; a fish genetically not meant to be big in size.
Personally i don't think a farmer MUST use hybrid before he/she makes profit. Your pure clarias specie can make bountiful profits too; it all depends on ur farm practices and methods.
As regards time to rear fish to tablesize, there's so many factors involved. You have to consider ur target size/weight. Frequency of feeding, farm practices, genetic make-up of the fish, what stage of fish was stocked etc will all determine how long ur fish will be reared. From personal experience on my farm i would say between 4months - 6months is ideal. Plz note that the longer u keep ur fish, the bigger they get. Consider ur target market/customers/locality too. Some don't like to buy big fish and prefer smaller table size fish.

If you complain to Soft he will tell you that your management is poor. Thank God you said you are not a first time farmer.

F3 fishes, Magnetic Feeds and Oxygenated bag palavar has landed some people into one chance.

Look at someone i know on this thread crying fowl about the gelatin feed, someone that made a loss on his previous stock using imported feed. Nigerians we are our own problem

Sir, I don't think exlesior has done anything wrong by asking for peopke s opinion. Anyway, I don't think anyone has come here before to cry out that somebody scamed him /her. However, anyone that come out here and cried bitterly for what he has passed through I don't look at them as a vagabond bcs it can be anybody"s turn tommorow . It is painful. Anyway,If you are satisfied with 700grm of your fishes with their feed in 3months good and fine but they said 2kg in 4 months if I'm right.

I am not condemning any, I have being privilege to see through the discussion, it is fact I believe we all need and that is why I stated categorically that silence isn't golden when truth needs to be spoken, hence I called the testifiers and complainers to state their case.

The Lord will keep the name He had given and it is never good to cover up when there is need to speak out.

so u mean ur memtors Soft n robonski are vagabon cos they r d brain behind d whatsapp group inquestion. U hav 700g hmmmmm impressive wat qty of feed? Robonski is not d initiator of d said feed mind u he's just an associate. Be u anybody try trash u will be mentioned! D MD of of a certain bank is in EFCC custody today cos he involve himsef wiv Diezani... if the like of saraki can be facing all this challenges then soft n rob r small not to face d anger of ppl that trust dem n follow them to d whatsapp group. I personally fought wiv som ppl over soft, so na only u be their feed cus? Soft is not in da country mind u he has change his return date countless no of times.... wat bitters many r his lack of customer service skill, shit can happen but u knw how to manage d issue. @time I take d blame of a cus on ma sef just to keep dem n still maintain d relationships. I hav countless no of records of ppl that has been burnt I mean ppl who r not even on d whatsapp group... this ID; somebody is not on d whatsapp group. Mind u the whatapp group is not just a group is now an Association backed by the Law.

It's good we have people wading in now. This is my first time commenting on here after following the thread since early last year and I can absolutely tell you Robonski gave me new motivation to get back into this business. I contacted him from the very first day I got my stock last year and he gave me great insight. Water management and feeding technique and brand(Zeigler)
I've also learnt a lot from other posters on here but I can't name them all(too many to count). Free feed formula, free consultation and so on. What I'm trying to establish is simple; I don't believe Robonski is a bad person but I am almost certain his good will is being taken advantage of.
Having said all that, I'd like to chip in. I ordered for juveniles on 5th of January and I have to say, it's been a wild, hard ride for me. I got so excited about the Dutch F3, I got my parents in on it. Although my dad showed a lot of skepticism, mainly because I had to pay upfront and it was into the farm manager's account, my mum was very much excited as I was. To cut the long story short, After 15 days, I got fingerlings that looked like post fries with about 34 mortalities, after waiting the whole day. I immediately contacted soft to complain about the size, mortality and the fact I didn't get 1 single fish extra. He apologized but questioned why I had to count the fish immediately they brought them. He promised to refund the balance of the fingerlings(6000 naira) with 100 extra fingerlings to make up for the mortality but took a lot longer than I expected. I had to tell him to forget about the extra fingerlings. The amount of mortality I've experienced is unprecedented. I've been in this business for quite a while and it's never been this bad. I would have assumed full responsibility if this was my first culture period. I've never had to use antibiotics and multivitamins before until now. All that is neither here nor there.
As for the feed, I have to say, I'm glad I didn't introduce any other farmers to it. I struggled with it for 4 days before deciding to switch to foreign feed. The mistake I made was going back to the gelatin feed. It may have worked for some people but I have to be honest, it's not worth the trouble. Pollution is a major setback, the fish looked like they stagnated and I'm surprised I didn't stop using it earlier than I did. I complained to Robonski but he asked me to keep using it and that he also uses it on his farm and he gets marvelous results. Before then, I had contacted some people that used it and they had all stopped using it because they were not getting results.
I wasn't too keen on saying anything publicly(except for the Agricnetwork thread I opened, which was a bit light on information) but the way Soft treats complaints is really poor. You cant always blame the farmer for poor farming practices after they bought fish and feed from you. Getting on the defensive and arguing with the customer won't help your business one bit. You have to assume some kind of responsibility. As for those suggesting we are trying to sabotage his efforts or calling us "vagabonds", it's a tad unfair and an insult to other people's intelligence. We complained because we bought fish and feed from Soft and have used it. Why would anybody want to bring him down when we are not offering an alternative to his products?
He needs to sort out the problem and apologise to those affected. In fact, I had every intention of buying the new floating feed they're selling now but after this weekend's outbursts and behavior on Soft's part, I have decided to look elsewhere for my feed/formula.
