I am sorry I won't be able to reveal my real name. But every other detail I give are absolutely genuine.

If you were a FUTARIAN from 2007 to 2012 it's possible you know this radical dude typing this. Yes. I was a popular christian on campus because of my activities then.

I had formal Pastoral training from my home church with a certificate. (Don't want to name the church). That was before I got admission into
FUTA. We planted 2 new churches before I gained admission and was able to get the churches members before handing over to more experienced pastors.

Believe it or not, I have over 300 converts that I know of and had a book I wrote the names of my converts so has to pray for them everyday by name.

I am very sure the real number will be in the thousands, because this 300+ converts are the only ones I have their names written.

I stayed in Akindeko Hostel in my first year in Futa. I was one of those who did what we called "morning cry" everyday in the hostel. Usually from 6am in the morning. Preaching that people should repent for the kingdom of God was at hand.
I remember how I usually had clashes with the muslims at the mosque beside Akindeko Hostel.

Now christianity is a fantastic religion. Although we love saying christianity is not a religion (smiles), we prefer saying it is a relationship with God. I smile because these are part of the things that makes christianity seem special. (More on this later)

Many people erroneously think atheists were never good christians, or that they become atheists because they want to sin. Lol, that is absolutely wrong. It is almost impossible to be a better christian than I was. I don't joke with purity and sincerity. I fast for more than half of the year, to maintain a good level of purity and focus. (And I was damn thin too).

This is one of the reasons why it is impossible to convert me again. There is nothing anyone can say or do that shakes me.

So christians online stop thinking people are not being sincere when they say they are atheists.

I MEET AN ATHIEST
In my second year, I stayed in Abiola Hostel, Abiola Hostel used to be the hostel of the big boys because only a wall seperated it from Jibowu hostel (a female hostel). Unlike Akindeko the rough and muslim ridden hostel.
At Abiola Hotel I met a guy, AZO (real nickname) he stayed in Block B while I was in Block C.
Azo was in 300L while I was in 200L. This guy did not believe GOD exists!
WHAT!
That was the first time I was meeting an atheist!
I was shocked!
That was the worse thing possible to me. How will a mere human not believe God Almighty exists?
I decided to have a chat with him. One thing I was good at was converting people, so I was sure the Holy Spirit was going to arrest Azo once I met him. To my surprise, Azo was the most honest plain guy I ever met. He listened to all I had to say. He said amen to my prayers. He was honest about finding God if indeed God exists. And I assured him that God exists but the devil has hardened his heart and blinded him from the truth.
I was convinced that God wanted to save Azo. I prayed for deliverance for the guy and I saw a lot of willingness from him .

This is the problem with christians, they think they have the answers to life. What do you mean by "where I got it all wrong". So you believe you are right and other people searching for the truth are wrong?
You think others are not willing to embrace christianity if it was the truth? Why are you not an Hindu or traditionalist?

Na you sabi. You can kindly leave the thread. I am not here to convert people. I am here to correct some misconception and share my story and many around the world are searching for details of the lives of people who from christians are now atheists.

I was very patient with Azo and even though he was older than me, he was more like a younger brother to me. I had to take time to teach him the bible, we discussed logic, we discussed science and had a lot of philosophical puzzles about life we talked about.
I felt God had a great destiny for Azo, because I was getting to him. I made sure I always prayed with him and it seemed to be working.
After about 2 months, Azo cracked. His stand in disbelief in God started shaking. He was overwhelmed at how I seemed to have ALL answers to any question he has using the bible.
Azo became a Christian even though not the serious kind of christian I would have loved. But he believed in God eventually. That was 2008
My first atheist convert!
I was so happy!
With God all things are possible indeed. I praised God for the victory.

hmmm brother you may not have the opportunity to choose where you will be born or which religion you will be born into but you have the opportunity to choose and decide which way is right or wrong it all boils down to choice. I am not criticising you but maybe we are wrong in one of our choice or assumption but am sure my biological father's story will help you greatly just that you need to complete your story before I say mine

That is where you got it wrong. Nairaland has changed many peoples religious beliefs, many people have abandoned religion altogether because of Nairaland, including the founder - Seun. Nairaland provides avenue for people to come out of the closet and question religious dogma they have been indoctrinated with since childhood.
