Everyone is at different stages of consciousness, there is a certain stage you reach when your intent is just to speak your truth and not argue over it or try to convince others of it.

You begin to realize we all have and thread different paths in other words you cannot convince a baby that they should be walking and not crawling when they are still at that stage of crawling.

To convince them of that truth is irrelevant.

So you need not reply the emotional but sadly ignorant assertions from insecure Christians littering this thread, you need not convince them that their wits are wrong because both of you are at different levels of wits, volition and illumination.

They can harbour any misconceived ill idea they have about atheists and atheism or broadly irreligiousity, it doesn't change anything.

No matter how hard you try to change that notion they will still hold it and cling to it, its not about them not learning but not wanting to learn.

Like i always say, it is dangerous for anyone with a belief in deities to debate an atheist, it might take a very long time but that tiny mustered seed of doubt must be planted.

Really I am not interested in convincing anyone. But I will keep upsetting the norms in religion just to tickle peoples imagination. I am yet to see an atheist that is trying to convert anyone. We just make our findings available.

I am perplexed that people read those "holy" books and don't ask important questions about what they are reading. If those books were just novels, then no problem. But books claiming to be from god; the absolute guide to life and definer of purpose. Not asking questions is a serious sign that such minds are deluded.

I made the first set of Baba Ogundare's Trainees. If only you know who Rev. Ogundare is. Or if only you know who Rev. Olusola Areogun is, you folks won't be spewing thrash here.
Before I even met them I was already well seeped in the gospel. I don't just read the bible, I have books I have written based on the revelation of the holy spirit to me as I read the bible.
At home I was regarded as a prophet. I prayed at least 6hrs none stop everyday. My mum felt I was called for a special assignment so she encouraged me after many attempts to stop me.
She used to be scared I would die of fasting. And yeah people die of fasting. Had a brother in CAC campus fellowship FUTA that died around 2010 from complications that were a result of fasting.

You christians here have no idea the kind of life I lved for christ.

I lived so well for god that when I became an atheist, I became the type that if you visit me to preach to me, you will leave almost throwing your bible away.

Nairaland is not enough to tell it all. I am the kind of guy that if I had continued as a christian would have ended up a legend.

So dear christians hold your horses.

becoming an atheists is not as easy as the theist think it is. But when you finally stop deceiving yourself, and the threats of these "Gods"(according to some men) seem unreasonable, you are out.

I began by thinking independently. If I can doubt the existence of a God, why would he allow anyone to think in the first place.

Then I experimented, if God can stop me from thinking further then he exists. I won't fool myself in this quest. All the questions became clearer and unanswerable.

I realized that no man has actually seen a god, or presented any convincing statement about the existence of a god, gods, or a God.

No person, with all the faith combined have raised the dead. Only one book claims to have records of supernatural accomplishment by men which I haven't experienced any except I would lie to my own self.

Any of you who have, by any means, seen, heard or have a conclusively indisputable proof of your god should try here and now.

Don't be scared to question the bible and your pastors. Don't settle for inconclusive explanations and answers. Then you'll have found your brain was in hibernation mood for a very long time.

I know the guy in your mind (he was in IDD to be precise) we were 4 that always prayed together and preach together. The SET guy and I stayed in Block C (he is still a christian, my best friend so I know). His name starts with D and ends with A

I fact it came after I learnt how important it was for a christian.
the man of God that thought us was a very honest man, he did not force anyone. He only pleaded that we earnestly seek the gift of the spirit and prayed with us. That same day many started speaking when he prayed, but I could not. I just couldn't it was all strange to me. When ever I opened my mouth I felt like I was about to say rubbish to God.
About a month after this, I was praying at home. I always loved prayer walks because it helps me pray longer. So I was pacing about the back of our house (no one can see me there or distract me, there was a farm there). And asking God to help me so I can pray in spirit. I remember the words of that man of God saying we need to have faith and just speak as the spirit leads. So I opened my mouth and spoke. It was really really strange, but I started to flow.

I can still speak in tongues till date. In fact when ever I am stressed and I need solution, I pace about the house and speak in tongues. It helps me think better.

It's amazing, but totally understandable, that Millions of people can be threatened by an alien god from alien tradition that is in no way related to their history.

How did I ever believe that the God in the book called the bible, who killed at will, is my own God.
