Learning to write code is not necessary when starting out. A google search will surely convince you! No one has said that learning to write code is a poor decision. But it takes a lot of studies to acquire coding skills that will help you code websites from scratch.

Tools You'll Need To Learn Web Design
In order to learn web design, you don't need highly sophisticated tools. You won't even need to purchase any software. A handful of tools are freely available. Here are the 3 basic tools you'll need:
1. A Content Management System
2. A Local Server and
3. A Computer
I will discuss each of those tools separately.

How Long Will It Take To Learn?
You can never graduate as a web designer. There will always be something new for you to learn. I started designing virtual websites since 2011, but I can't say I've learnt everything.

Types Of Websites You Can Design
When you learn web design, you will be able to create websites similar to:
1. Nairaland.com
2. Facebook.com
3. Jumia.com/Konga.com
4. Jiji.com.ng
5. Etc.

Introduction To Content Management Systems (CMS)
Last time I mentioned 3 basic tools you'll be using to learn web design. So in this discussion, I'll be introducing you to the first tool - Content Management System.

What Is A Content Management System?
In simple terms, a content management system is a web-based software mainly used for developing websites or organizing its contents. Although there are different types of content management systems (some free and some paid), 3 have gained huge popularity over the years. They are:
1. Wordpress
2. Joomla! and
3. Drupal
Out of these three most popular ones, Wordpress has gained the widest popularity due to its ease of use. It is very powerful and with it, you can build just about any website. Best of all, it's free!

Second Tool: The Local Server
In our last discussion, I introduced the first tool you'll need to learn web design - a content management system or CMS. Physically, the main difference between a CMS and most computer programmes is that a CMS works through a third party software. That third party software must either be running in a "real" web server or it must be locally installed in your own computer.

Here Is The Local Server You'll Need
There are different local servers you can make use of. However, my assumption is that you are using a Windows PC. If that's the case, please make a google search and download a programme called:
EasyPHP (approximately 18MB).
After downloading it, leave it in your desktop. Do not install it yet. We'll do that together, hur? Good!

Third Tool: Your Computer

In the last discussion, I introduced a local server as one of the three tools you'll need to learn web design. A CMS will run in either a real or local server. But the question is: where will a local server run? Ofcourse it will run in a computer. You need your "personal" computer. Forget about using a cyber cafe.

Thanksalot for the advice bro...i have been considering moving from blogger a long timeago but i just started out... my blog is barely 2 months old... i will make a full switch ver soon

For secure payment gateway, i have been experimenting with voguepay cos its cheap and easy to set up (though havent known how to incoporate it into my WooCommerce plugin).
Would need more options that accepts Nigerian credit cards with lesser costs
