youngmoney416: 1) Depending on the network provider and the plan you're subscribed to. Usually most phone plans come with unlimited calling and texting to US numbers and maybe to Canada also. Some may also give you some minutes, say 45 minutes, of free international calling to Nigeria. If you call Nigeria very frequently, then you would need to buy international call cards such as Boss Revolution where you get 2hrs and 15 minutes for $5. Depending on the plan ($19, $29 etc.) you could get 500MB of data, 1GB or unlimited data. I currently use Ultra Mobile for $29 every month and I get unlimited calling and texting to US and Canadian numbers, and 500GB of data (I do not really use my phone data that much because I have Wi-Fi at home and there's fast Wi-Fi on campus for when I was going to school), and 45 minutes of call time to Nigeria. Good thing is after I exhausted my 45 minutes of call time to Nigeria, my provider gave me an extra 2 hours again which I am still using. 2) Texas is generally a good state to school in and I recommend Texas but I can't say the same for Florida. A few of my friends who originally attended a semester or two in Florida have transferred out of the state to somewhere cheaper (both went to Texas). For one, Florida can be expensive to live in and their tuition rates are quite high. Second, Florida is mostly a retirement spot/area for the rich people in America where they go to live out their retirement years, thus properties there are expensive. With that said, there are not that many job opportunities in the state for students after graduation. Thus, I would pursue my Texas admission fervently. 3) The Greater Washington DC area (i.e. the states of Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC proper, also called the DMV area) is the next technical hub of the US after California. There are so many IT companies and jobs around here for IT specialists. 4) America does give you opportunities to achieve whatever you want to achieve. There is always a way to go about achieving what you want. Not being a permanent resident does NOT bar you from starting a company in the US. This is because you are creating jobs for the economy which is what the US government wants! Also if you invest up to $500,000 or $1,000,000 depending on which and where, you are eligible to obtain your green card through that category. Infact, the US government actively encourages foreign investment in the country and you do not need to be a resident nor citizen to set up a business in this country. Some schools often have business preparatory incubators that coach you in successfully establishing a business in the country especially at the start up stage and the necessary tools that you would need for success. My school does have one. Also there are tons of business mentors, individual and company, out there willing to help you succeed in your business venture. 5) I am a huge supporter of one following one's dreams. If you are dreams are too big that it scares you then you are in the right direction. Sometimes it is only you that is able to envision your dreams and it is difficult for others around us to imagine our dreams when you tell them about it. There are people you tell of your dreams and all they can see are ways by which you'll fail and there are those you tell of your dreams and they suggest one or two ways by which you can get there. Some people will tell you immediately, 'you can't do it. This life is hard', not necessarily because you can't do it but because they can't imagine doing it themselves, and some will tell you, 'yes you can do it and here's how'. It all depends on the individual. Be mindful of who you reveal your dreams to. Surround yourself with like minded persons that will help you get to where you want to do it. Success is yours. Cheers. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

acadollar: For the US it depends on the state. In Maryland, for example, you are legally allowed to drive with your international driver's license for up to 1 year but not all police officers are aware of this. In MD, you have up to 1 year to drive with your license after which you need to get a MD license. There are some police officers that may give you a ticket for 'not driving with a US license' when you are legally allowed to within 1 year of getting here. That is for Maryland. You definitely want to check with the driving rules of the state you are in or intend going to. 1 Like |

bigfrancis21:Thanks a lot. I appreciate. Another question I would like to ask is, is West Virginia different from West Virginia and what is Texas known just as California is known for high tech and entertainment in respect to Silicon Valley and Los Angeles. I do hope to transfer to Harvard University after a semester. What are my chances of getting admitted because I researched their site and found out there is funding for international students who can't afford the fee. Can my essay and interview do the magic because I never attended an international school like lekki British school nor corona. Truly that's my dream school. |
