yrmybank:I did mine at kano center, and every body was screened, even those that did not find their name on the shortlist, but they are very strict about these things 1- Height 2- Original Certificate 3- Nysc Discharge Certificate( the officer may overlook it, only if you will get it before the next stage) 4- if your course of study was advertised ( a chaplain of the Nigerian Army was NQ because of this) I also heard one officer telling his colleague that out of 50 management science applicant he had screened, it's only about 3 that qualified Am not discouraging people, but am just saying what I witness So the truth is that many people will be disqualified based on the above 1 Like |

mimzy007:As a Legal Practitioner, let me give my own candid opinion on this. Of course in ordinary English parlance, 'should', in most cases, is the past tense of 'shall' just as 'would' is the past tense of 'will'. So, in Law, 'should' is interpreted to mean 'shall' and 'shall' is interpreted to mean 'must'. So whenever a Law or an Instruction or a Rule makes use of the word 'should' or 'shall', it means that a person MUST do what is required. It is compulsory or mandatory. No room for discretion at all. It must be interpreted literally. But where the word 'may' is used, it means it is NOT compulsory. There is room for discretion & it can be interpreted liberally. So Mimzy u are actually correct & I hereby give 95% for ur excellent interpretation of the two words. 3 Likes |

Cooldeejay: I second your comment. Even worst is the fact that NAF is not operating based on syllabus and yet people are asking for pq as if they are going to sit for WAEC. Interesting seeing how some graduates are displaying their ignorance here. NAF can pick question anywhere like wwtbam. Anyway there's no knowledge acquired that's a waste. |

This is not necessary cos under administration I filled my discipline as political science as it was not listed. I did my screening successfully and I got Q. I met my course mates who equally did the same thing they all got Q too. What I think is they already knew that some courses that are related to those listed ought to have been listed the same reason they are conducting general screening at least to ascertained if one discipline fit under which the person registered or not and also if your meet the requirement. |
