As per the issue under discuss regarding going through a language course or something like that. I have seen different scenario. A guy want to pass through the route last year against my advise though, but was denied. He has paid part of the school fees I guess cause I think it is a private institution/language school. Late last year, I was at the embassy; I met 2 guys that were there for interview. We had some discussion and I got the contact of one of them. The school admission letters were given to them but with clause that they will first attend language course in the same school for months (I can't remember the specific number) after which they will proceed to year 1 of their program and all that. But when I hook up with the guy on fb thereafter, he said they were all denied. He said they were 3 or 4 using the same method. Though luck differs sometimes, and there might be special favour also, but look closely and carefully because of the many processes involved in this journey. It is sometimes painful to undergo all those stress for nothing. Shalom 1 Like |

Could someone please help upload a copy of the new blocked account opening form. Need to compare it with the one I have with me. It does not carry the section that caused a debate here in the latter part of part 2. I am talking about where one is asked to fill in an address for tax purpose. 1 Like |

honourableseyi: Thanks honourableSeyi. That's some tangible piece of advice right there. And you're right. One has to be extremely cautious when it comes to this bachelor degree route. I am well aware of the risk involved and it's not just bachelor degree students only, i know a south African who was also deniend visa for master's degree at the embassy in Johannesburg. Each an everyone of us here is taking a risk. Please if you can remember anymore specifics from your friend's situation back then that might have caused him to be denied his visa, please do not hesitate to share. Thank you |

UncleJudax: Simple, you have to prove to the VO that you can still do great exploits here in Nigeria even if you are denied. I know you will ask me how? I am a living testimony.
My first trip to Germany '7weeks' was for a language course. The interview then didn't go as plan but at the end my visa was approved. The lady who interviewed me insisted I attend Goethe institüt instead of going to Germany. Well, my scheduled time to travel was August which happen to a holiday period in Geothe. Then i applied for a study visa, which of course was still a language course, interviewed by the then dreaded old German lady, my interview was more or less like a chat because all she did was repeated all the information I handed over to her and she asked the same interview questions posted here.Mind you, my language course admission letter stated, I was going to write DSH at the end of the program, in other to write DSH you need a provincial admission letter from the Universität, Language course route is possible, if only you are meticulous. you have to cross all Ts and dot all Is. NB: please learn German in Nigeria to B1 level if you intend to use this path. Using zero German knowledge is a RED FLAG 2 Likes |

chinok97:Do you know you might eventually not need to even send a copy of your ielts result to Uniassist again. Once your result is out, you can just inform them of your TRF number via the contact form. They can verify it themselves. And if you insist on sending, hope you know you can send unauthenticated copy to them. This is as stated on their website: English In general, when providing proof of English language knowledge the same principles apply for providing proof of German language knowledge: please gather exact information on which certificates are accepted and which level you need to provide proof of. Once you have done this, please submit your certificates on time and in officially authenticated form. Here we will provide you with another short overview of the most important types of proof: IELTS: for the IELTS, you must reach a certain prescribed score value. uni-assist can verify IETLS results online, therefore you may submit either an unauthenticated certificate to us or inform us of your IELTS Test Report Number. Note!: the university’s deadline also applies here! |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by honourableseyi: 7:41pm On May 04, 2016 |
Leprof1: The thing is, if indeed you want to go through that route, learn the language to atleast B1. What was common in their cases back then was, none of them has learned the language here in Nigeria. Having said that, things are fast changing unlike before. I have read about someone that got visa for language course in the past but of recent, it is capital NO. Also, before, Msc don't write test at the embassy during interview once you dont give the VO the reason to. In fact, not all Bsc applicants write test unless you didn't perform very well during your oral interview with the VO. But alas, what do we have now? Be it Bsc or Msc, your first point of call before oral interview is the written test; unless may be in some rare occasion. The chance of getting visa with 100L transcripts for Bsc and Msc without German certificate once your program is fully taught in English is higher than getting visa with this route and in the same situation. Shalom |

honourableseyi:The written test though...is it also done while standing ...cos the interview since after the Ebola crisis has been akin to visiting an immate The last time i was there...a student was on the intercom or something shouting protein is this, protein is tha They really should look into changing the modus...maybe reverting to the old arrangement. We are genuine students, not asylum seekers. |

UncleJudax: Original standing wey no get rival. Though I don't know if anyone has asked for a seat before. The time for the test is limited sometimes than to begin to ask for seat ooo. You will shift to other side where is no telecom so that the vo can attend to other people. It is well jere |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Keji74: 10:04pm On May 04, 2016 |
ohakskid:Not in all cases, it depends on what the uni you're applying to request. If the school is okay with a letter of English language proficiency, then you don't need to write any English language exam, but if the school insists on an English exam, then you have to write one (either IELTS or TOEFL) |

Many schools can grant you admission without IELTS or any letter. I dont know why people are getting bugged on any English proficiency certificate brohaha. Fine the exam is not difficult, but with current economic situation in Nigeria, its not that difficult in getting admission without it.Just package your application well. 2 Likes |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by honourableseyi: 10:22am On May 05, 2016 |
futurewise11: At the same time many schools will not, most especially Bsc programs and some Msc too. Some have stated it categorically on their website. I worked on some schools for the possibility of waving it for a Bsc holder going for another Bsc in Germany owing to the fact that the four years program is fully taught in English, but they replied by saying it is a must to have the certificate. So how well do you want to package the document for these type of schools? So it depends on the course, school, location and program. Some allow you to submit it during your enrolment; but above all, it will surely limit the chances of the applicants to a certain level now that people are trooping into Germany for the same purpose from all over the world. 52k should not become an obstacle to this dream if 1.8million is not. lakesidepapa: If a particular school insist on English proficiency certificate cant you look at other school? My point is simple and clear: Ielts/toefl give you more schools to pick from but can u enrol into two schools? Capital no. Germany has plenty university to pick from.If one insist on any of those certificate, look into others. Is university of kiel, stralsund, tubingen, cottbus(ERM),soest (informatics) etc asking you for certificate? Because have applied there and admission letter was granted without any Ielts. German university is wide in all dimension.if one says no, another one will say yes. Moreover its not an embassy requirement. 3 Likes 1 Share |
