But can they still ask me the questions on my previous interview, cos I don't knw if they do record down the questions and my replies... And can I say av been working or I joined my mother in her business since 2008 till date wud it complicate any issue.?

Expect any question... You need to work on this key questions.

Why associate degree and not bachelor degree
Why this school
Why this course
How do you hear about this school
What have you been doing since 2008
Your ds 160 is your record Man...
Do you have part 7 visa approved transcript? If no, send me PM, I will send it to you..

Be sincere. Why do you want an associate degree rather than a bachelor's degree which is better? If Norwalk offers associate as their highest degree and associate degree is not so good degree, does that mean there is no single school in US that offers bachelor's in BA? Change the school and the degree to bachelor's, find something to fill in your long gap before trying again. If not, same story might be the next interview transcript. Best.

Now its time to bounce back after my denials. I just wanna make a confirmation from the gurus here. I took some time to go through some schools and i realized most schools accept Post baccalaureate degree. Can my PGD be termed a post baccalaureate degree? Gurus, i need your take on this,so i can know the next move to make.

Ask from the schools you want to apply to if they will accept it as post baccalaureate. School policy is not the same.

So the easiest way to keep your story straight and have the same answers as your last interview is... tell the truth.

If you start making up stories and confuse yourself, you are guaranteed to get the blue paper.

The VOs have gone through the process of selecting a college or university; telling us that you "have a passion for this school" doesn't make any sense. How do you have such a passion for some place you have never been?

This is a recurring theme. Students come in thinking that there is a "right answer" that they need to give so they recite a script. I can tell you that if a student continues to give nonsensical answers as to how they selected a particular school (student-to-teacher ratio, climate amenable to Nigerians, love the environment, etc.) then there is a good chance that they will get refused. The transcripts here serve as a testament to this fact.

Thank you for expounding, Lazywriter. This is helpful.

I am currently working on paying my SEVIS but please is there anyway to view the available dates for appointment?
This is solely for the purpose of 'planning ahead'.

Thank you

I will advice you to book an appointment (if school is resuming soon) since the nearest available date is the 19th and then find a way to pay SEVIS (it usually takes 2 business days to reflect and there are a handful of guys that can help you with it here).

You can only see available dates when you are about booking but trust me the information keeps changing real-time (meaning an available slot now may not be available in the next minute) as people book daily.

Please save yourself the stress and money..... collect your money back from the sch by asking them to pay to someone in the US who can send back to you at parallel market rate.

Look for a better degree as cc is a bad choice for you right now considering the fact that u finished high school 8 years ago.

Get a better degree and if u get to the US u can then switch back to a community college as there are folks here who did the same.

What you need your uncle for now is to help you get your money back from the school. Mail the school and tell then your visa application was denied the u will want them to refund you. Get your uncle account details as required by the school and send it to them for refund.

Getting a university is your responsibility and not your uncle's. Google is your best friend, search for schools, apply to 3 or more schools. Prepare very well for your admission and visa. Take all necessary qualify tests to better your chances.

Most importantly, pray to God and ask for guidance and always come down here to seek more advise should in case you need more. Good luck in your new journey.

Available means there are 9 slots left for Thursday 7:30 appointment. If your school is resuming soon, you better book as soon as possible.

May 19 is the next available day, meaning there is no slot between now and 19th

Good evening all, visa was approved today at US consulate Lagos. I just wanna thank everybody that has ever commented on this thread as I always learn from what I read here. Special thanks to @slimmy2005 for helping with my sevis fee payment and @holudarey01 for always checking up and of course @cutemorgan for introducing me to this thread.
My appointment was 6:30am and I was the first person to be attended to today, here it goes.

V.O: Why are you going to the US?
Me: To pursue my doctorate degree in chemistry at Louisiana State University.
V.o: At baton rouge?
Me: Yes at baton rouge.
V.o: What other degree do you have?
Me: Bachelor's degree
V.o: In what course
Me: chemistry as well
V.o: great, did you get any kind of funding?
Me: Yes I did, graduate teaching assistantship, waives my tuition and with a generous stipend....couldnt help but smile
V.o: smiled back, thats exciting
Me: very exciting
V.o: So how did u know about Lsu?
Me: It was first recommended to me by a friend who did his graduate studies there, then I read up on the school, its chemistry program is rated top 100 in the entire country, and they have some really interesting researches going on.
V.o:* nodded* thats good, did you apply to any other schools?
Me: Yes, four other schools..
V.o: have you paid your sevis fee?
Me: yes I have
V.o: then he typed somethings for a bit, ok your student visa is approved, you cant enter the US until 30 days bfore ur program start date. Dont forget to have your I20 on your person and not in your luggage. Then something about Education Usa.

At this point, I was too happy to say anything, was just nodding. Typing it now, it seems long but it all took less than 3mins.
Thank you all.
