larpazi: Your reasons?? Am sure you used WP7 or 7.5.... Go and use 8 or 8.1 then upgrade Windows 10 Mobile. if it's still the worst u ever use, then stick to Android phone, Windows phone is too good for u. |

oyb: sir, you've not tested latest Windows 10 mobile version. Pls give it a try and thank me later.

hansyllo: If you read through my post you will find I have done all that and more. It is extremely frustrating when you hard reset a phone every other month. It is so bad that I don't bother restoring settings since the issue may be there. |

Ghost447: Do I really need to give reasons? App selection on WP is a joke compared to Android or IOS. You're not guaranteed updates. MS has repeatedly broken promises to update phones, most notably from WP 7 to WP8, and now from WP8.1 to Windows 10 Mobile The hardware is unappealing and Flagships are overpriced Google Now is better than Cortana for our immediate environment. Microsoft is actively bringing the best WP apps to android and IOS. Very slow development in the Windows phone space. Even Microsoft strongly de-emphasized their phone platform in their developer conference of last month. |
Re: What Is So Special About Windows Phones? by Nobody: 3:14pm On May 06, 2016 |
texazzpete: this. microsoft is giving users the android fragmentation experience on handsets they have full control and ownership of. |

oyb: Bros Restore back to 8.1, then download upgrade advisor from store, after it has confirmed ur device for upgrade to windows 10. go to settings, update. hit the update option and start downloading till its done and installs. all u need is no more dan 2gb of data. peace! |
Re: What Is So Special About Windows Phones? by crackjoor: 3:21pm On May 06, 2016 |
haibe: FYI Windows is a closed Source Os, while Android is Open source. thats the reason why u can get dos apps on android. u wont find dem on iOS because it is also Closed source |
Re: What Is So Special About Windows Phones? by haibe(m): 4:28pm On May 06, 2016 |
crackjoor: But I can't do without those apps. So u see why android is special? |
Re: What Is So Special About Windows Phones? by Nobody: 4:37pm On May 06, 2016 |
crackjoor: Noo Most of those features are available if you jail break ios. The fact that no hackers are interested in doing that says a lot about wps potential. |
Re: What Is So Special About Windows Phones? by crackjoor: 4:42pm On May 06, 2016 |
oyb: Jail breaking iOS can never make u get root access. No Way! |
Re: What Is So Special About Windows Phones? by Nobody: 4:58pm On May 06, 2016 |
crackjoor: You don't understand. All you need to do is jailbreak ios, then you can bypass most of the restrictions built in. Downloads are limited if using 3g. Jailbreak install the right app, and you're good to go. Before night shift, there was flux. Interestingly flux is on every platform except Windows Mobile. |

Re: What Is So Special About Windows Phones? by miketayo(m): 5:19pm On May 06, 2016 |
oyb: ur story is fishy.. its either u are lying abt using those phones or ... after using 520 and it failed you why did u buy 630 and 640xl, who does that?? you kept using lumia despite hating it. you even have lumia 640xl that was launched mid last year, u could aswell get an infinix or techno for a cheaper price. lmao u said MS has given up on windows mobile, so wat else r they doing? y not update ur phone to windows 10. from ur comment it seems the only problem u have is the availability of apps esp angry bird..thats not enuf reason to write off an OS |

augster:I was ignorant back then just like every other Windows fans, so a very good friend of mine introduced me to Android and I opted for the Galaxy A8, it was from there I realized what I was missing, no going back! |

Re: What Is So Special About Windows Phones? by Nobody: 8:31pm On May 06, 2016 |
miketayo: really, you cannot keep it polite, rather you are running your mouths like little brats just as i went from 520 to 630 to 640xl i went from an lg optimus to an ultra low end samsung [i forget the name] to an lg d410 to a note 3 if i had nothing to compare wp to, i might be able to make excuses for it. the 630 was a huge lap in performance, the 640xl not so much. i expected the 1gb ram to be a serious performance boost, but instead, i keep getting crashed apps you louts fail to understand that one can make excuses for an os if your experience gets better with each new iteration. but when you have a issues where a device essentially can only work well with the original os it shipped with, but is problematic with other oses then theres a problem there was a period when i was using the earlier technical previews when my phone would boot to a blank screen. i've always been a bleeding edge user, but the rubbish i got and still get from windows mobile was something else. the boilerplate warnings do not use as your daily driver/do not use on a production machine apply directly to windows 10 mobile. i have not had te sort of issues with windows desktop technical previews or ios previews. the only selling point the windows devices have after all is said and done, is that they are data friendly. i have pointed out repeatedly to your slow witted nitwits of poor comprehension that i am running windows 10 on my phone. i have been running it for over a year as to angry birds, again you are showing how slow you are. right now, there an angry birds action! game. its on my ipad, its on my note 3, its not on the windows store. that is the experience of the windows user, outside looking in, like a user of the cheapest star times bouquet. he knows he will never get to see the latest and greatest tv shows. but its not just limited to games. the developers of some of the best cross platform productivity apps dont even look in windows mobile direction. i doubt if ignoramii like you two douches know about pocket, a fantastic bookmarking tool. is on every other platform. on wp its only through some third party tools, and then it doesn't work well at all. ditto for pushbullet. go to browsers - dolphin, firefox, adblock plus, chrome, they are all platforms. all you get on wp is opera and that lousy peretually crashing uc browser. google spits on windows mobile as well. no youtube, google keep , hangouts, etc. meanwhile ms is running round buying up apps that run on android/ios and repurposing them in their bid not to lose out completely cortana is available for both ios and android. so is the office suite. so is outlook. what does this mean? the things you louts are bragging about are already available on the other platforms! that means an android/ios user is missing out on absolutely nothing with android, i am closely tied in to the entire google ecosystem. with wp, all i have is continuum which is a dubious proposal - who wants to mirror a pc to a screen half its size. ms lost the mobile battle long ago. thats why they are pishing wp in naija and india, because there are multiple unexposed nimrod peasant nitwits like you louts who can stay fooled forever. there's another fellow on this thread who has given up on wp. i dont even post on nl with my lumia because edge is unable to save my password. just about all mobile device makers have abandoned wp. some are making very tentative steps back, but they are few and far between. 1 Like |

[quote author=femrd post=45351264]I use both android(gionee) and windows(Microsoft 535). There re far less apps on windows than android. Also, Windows phone is only frustrating initially but with time you will love it. All in all, I prefer my windows over my android- it is just unique and more secure.you just spoke my mind. |

The major highlight of W8.1 downwards is the flawless performance. It works so well, it's almost a joke. Am Android phone will slow down after a while and will become pronouncedly laggy unlike W8.1 I can't say same about W10 though, as the user reviews aren't really good, and I haven't used it. I wouldn't recommend WP over Android right now though. |

Re: What Is So Special About Windows Phones? by onatisi(m): 6:07am On May 07, 2016 |
Elxandre: W8.1 is good and I have had no issues with it . I think on one side ppl that complain about wp not having many apps are absolutely correct but apart from the apps variety issue,wp is a very good phone. I will recommend it to anyone who isn't a game addicted person . |
