Ugh ! When you are perfect . Whatever improvement to be made its just getting to be like you . Let's look at the guy who made a 5.0 cgpa - a perfect result - every 100 level student would strive to finish with that result or something close to it 4.95 , 4.9 , 4.8 , 4.85 . That perfection was maintained by that guy all through his 100 to 400 level - getting a 5.0 gp . How is this abstruse ? undecided Can you get better than a 5.0 cgpa?

You guys are close-minded and are still obdurate about your 'continuous improvement brings perfection' nonsense .

Also note that he could also improve on his extra-curricular activities. Did he do sport? Community service? Did he do IT?

That 5.0 score is just measurement out of many in the university.

You are deviating from the point . He did make a perfect score . Its PERFECT because its 5.0/5.0 and he made it all through his 100 to 400 level . You are limiting your knowledge of perfection to human behavior !

So, the perfect indomie is not flawed but

-most Nigerians do not eat it
-it is not time efficient

====================

This is truly the point of the omnipotence paradox and the failure of God's perfection- perfection in one aspect can usually cause imperfection in another aspect. Being "all perfect" is impossible.

Read this post carefully , cogitate on it

KingEbukasBlog:

When I throw a dart and it hits the bull's eye , isn't it called a perfect shot ? Does it need to hit other areas of the dartboard before perfection would be attained ? And a 100 percent score in a test is a perfect score . Straight A1s can be described as a perfect result .

Anyway we are saying the same thing , imperfection can be moulded to perfection . But that does not mean there is no perfect state of anything . E.g The bull's eye of a dartboard when hit can be described as a perfect shot , straight As , 100 percent test score

In fact most desirable results can be described as perfect - the taste of food after cooking , old wine , the beauty of art

Desirable states can be described as perfect - a healthy body , if something goes according to the plan . How was the wedding ? It was perfect

Anything suitable under a particular circumstance can be described as perfect - silence to a foolish talk can be described as a perfect response/reaction

Anything perfect can be described through perception - I may see something as perfect , and you may see something as faulty , Good sex after a hot shower can be described as a perfect way couples should bond during cold nights , I can disagree by insisting couples should read a book or go through their photo albums as a perfect way to bond during cold nights .

So young man learn to see things in different perspectives .

You see that is an opinion which have not been proven to be true . It does not actually preclude God's perfect nature .

Well what you have to know is that a truly perfect thing can't change, erm, but it also have to change to always maintain it's perfection at any particular point--showing imperfection. (I don't even know whether am still making sense cause my brain is already saturated undecided )
Your 5.0 cgp have to always remain 5.0 to be perfect..if the curriculum changes it to 10.0 cgp tomorrow and someone scores 5.0 hmm I wonder what happens.

This is quite ironic seeing how you pull phrases like "God's perfect nature" out of your azz. How do you know that God is perfect?

Even your own God says that he is a jealous God. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me?? Why?? God can't bare the fact that some people prefer Zeus and Buddha?

However, that is besides the point. The fact remains that it is logically impossible to defend or even imagine something that is "all-perfect". Such a thing cannot exist. Perfection in one area usually means imperfection in another area as we have demonstrated here.

If someone is perfectly good, that means that he cannot do a lesser evil in order to stop a bigger evil.

For instance, you're in the north as a christian and there are boko haram terrorists going around killing christians. Unfortunately, a boko haram member gets lost and finds his way to your hideout. You hear him cursing christians and infidels, and by chance, he sees you guys hiding through your window. He brings out his phone to call his other members........

.....the right thing to do is to kill him or at least, knock him unconscious. However, he will fight to the death, so killing is the most likely action. Would a perfectly moral person kill him? No, the perfectly moral person would either try to reason with the terrorist or run. Both of which will get the perfectly moral person killed

I made the below statement in bold;

"Perfection is a paradox. Perfection means "no flaws" but then again, perfection itself can be a flaw."
=================================================================

Now, the problem is that we have 2 theists who say that I'm talking nonsense. Please do you guys see reason in the bold comment and is it relatable to the problems with God's omnipotence?
I think Perfection can only be a flaw to the imperfect and we can never decide what is morally good from the morally inferior. I think you are wrong.

Your comment is more of a probability than a possibility.

Personally, I feel it is the other way round. Imperfection is a sign of perfection

Well, I received a lot of unfair abuse and bans during my evangelical days. Nairaland was not always fair to atheists then. And I was not perfect myself- I used anger to react to the bias and then, the biased people use the anger as a retroactive justification for the ban. I was even betrayed by one of my disciples.

So yeah. I just do the little I can these days.

Its a common phrase and yet, not true. Imperfection can never be a sign of perfection because you already know that it is a flaw and not perfect.

but perfection on the other hand, is never enough. There is always better.

Well, we as humans keep seeking for perfection but have never found it. I think that is perfection in itself. On a flip side, perfection can never exist because it will always be improved upon. What might seem perfect today will eventually become archaic tomorrow.

We just said the same thing. Lol

Your comment only proves my point further.

If we are imperfect beings, how good is perfection to us? Wouldn't we as imperfect beings desire for imperfect things due to our imperfect nature? We would see perfection and it wouldn't satisfy us. We would see it as inadequate to our nature.

Perfection for humans will be a flawed concept since we are imperfect by nature. Just like the perfect indomie, we love cooking it the imperfect way (different from the instructions on the pack) because of time and resources. Have you ever measured the water with proper utensils before cooking indomie? Do you use all the sauce when cooking 4 or more packs of indomie?

Given that we are imperfect, how are we to understand a perfect God. How is he supposed to make sense to us when we can't relate to him? Human morality is not perfectly black and white (good vs bad), it is sometimes grey, in which there is no correct answer. How are we then going to live with the perfect morality a God supposedly gave us through holy books?

1) By what standards are you perfect in song writing?

2) Well, you couldn't compose harmonic cacophony.

3) You couldn't compose what a high on weed or cocaine can compose.

Some people do some random mixes/remixes (mashups) of different and it works sometimes. It is not something you can sit down and write. It comes by mistake or trial and error.

Take for instance, some guys started saying "mmbop.....mmbop" and it became the chorus of a great song. It is not something they wrote. It just came randomly and they realised that it sounded good.

Here are the lyrics of the chorus of the song-

-mmbop..pa-pa...mmbop......heyi.ye..i..ye.....mmbop.

What about the popular scatman song? "Pirapaparopo....I'm the scatman"

This requires a great deal of critical thinking to understand not our primary school definition of perfection.

That's my problem with the 4 words I mentioned above.

Can you add anything to perfect again? Is the song different because he's high on weed or the quality of a song written when high? Absolutely the quality. And we have a Perfect Song Writer so he'd definitely write it. So, try again, what type of song can a Perfect Song Writer not write?
