The Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Seriake Dickson, has expressed dismay over what he described as the poor representation of the state in all cadres of the federal civil service.

He called on the Federal Government to reverse the “unfair and inequitable” trend, a statement on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said.

The governor was quoted as expressing his concern during a courtesy call on him by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, at the Government House, Yenagoa.

Dickson also challenged the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to intensify efforts on the completion of the ongoing federal secretariat project in the state.

According to him, available employment statistics reveal that Bayelsa ranks among few states that are poorly represented in all cadres of the Federal Civil Service.

He added that Bayelsa State does not have any federal permanent secretary.

The governor said, “We will like you to give us listening ears as we make the case for a fair and equitable representation in all cadres of the public service of the federation. A case in point is the absence of a permanent secretary from Bayelsa State in the Federal Civil Service.

“As you are more aware than I am, since the retirement of Amb. Godknows Igali, our state is now one of the few states that does not have representation at that level. I don’t believe it is deliberate.

“But, I will like to call your attention to that, because you are also a member of the Federal Executive Council.”

The governor said the state government was ready to partner with the office of the HoS in driving his administration’s policies on the welfare of public servants, particularly in the areas of housing and training programmes.

He said the government has already acquired large expanse of land in some strategic areas of the state capital, Yenagoa, and would collaborate with reputable development partners to build affordable residential houses for civil servants.

Oyo-Ita expressed determination of government to effect a paradigm shift in documentation, and in the welfare of the civil servants, especially in the areas of housing, training, regular payment of salaries and allowances as well as post-pension life.

She said, “I want to leave behind a deep and lasting change in the culture of the service and the people operating it. I am looking at developing a character change and a civil service that will act in line with the ethics of the service; efficient, productive, incorruptible and citizen-centred.”

This is pure WICKEDNESS. After all the oil money the state of Bayelsa contributes to the revenue of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, they are not allowed a sizable representation in the FG civil service. And some people will be criticising Niger Delta Avengers, because they want to watch Premiership, champions League and Telemundo. Its aiit. Thankgod for GEJ, who did his best to reverse this injustice. Jonathan, you will always be a hero.

This is the most useless and pathetic governor in the history of this country. Between Dickson and luck igbinedion the goat, i dont know who is worst

Dickson will succeed in staying in office for 8yrs without a single project. No infrastructure, no economic plan, no development whatsoever and months and months of salaries unpaid!

I have to say, he is just the true face of pdp

Bayelsa is one state in thirty six.

They should hold their son Jonathan for the underdevelopment and neglect.

Jonathan messed things up by empowering criminals instead of intellects thereby discouraging education and hardwork. Yar'Adua started the nonsense though. Bayelsa and the pure Ijaw found only in Bayelsa and Delta States need a lot of reorientation to solve an endemic social crisis similar to Northern alimajiri. The Ijaw speaking Rivers like Kalabari are advanced and well positioned in the business world and academia.

Bayelsa no go killi person.
I have seen almost all Ijaw political leaders speak.
They all have the intellect of a gnat.
You can search YouTube and feed your own eyes.
People like Tam David West do not stay in that environment. They all leave for the places where they can find their contemporaries.
No metaphor is more apt than the hotel.
It represents all that is wrong with that state.
Special thanks to Obasanjo who thought we deserve to enjoy this level of governance at the federal level.
17 years and counting.

The same clown that made Patience Jonathan a Permanent Secretary at state level now complains that FG didnt appoint Bayelsan as Perm Sec?
If you don't take yourself serious, who will? Is it the militants that Jona invested in that will be made Perm Secs or people like the common sense clown?

Except..

#OCCUPYINGMINDS: #NIGERDELTAMILITANTS...Every time a Crude Flow Station is Destroyed by Militants in the Niger Delta, The Environment is Damaged; Our Land is Polluted and Our Communities are subjected to more hardships...Let the Bombing Continue, who will loose?...The Government of PMB is dragging the Nigerian Economy away from Crude Oil; Lagos State has Joined the League of Oil Producing State and the Northern Part of Nigeria whose Reserves have been Cynically suppressed over the Year will begin production within the next couple of months or within the next two years...

With time, We from the Niger Delta would have destroyed our Lands so much that future generation will curse us, their Fathers and Mothers for killing their dreams. Let the Stupidity Continue my People...Don't stop the blowing up of pipelines.

Everyone of us thinks that a Blown Pipeline is an attack on PMB and His Government of Change...Insanity on display I must say. Kano and Lagos are Leading the way in Tomatoes Paste Production and Tomatoes don dey scarce shebi? The Northern Landmass alone is about 4 times the entire Landmass of the SS and the SE; Agriculture will revolutionize the North within the next decade...We from the Niger Delta will use our Oil to sock Garri and we think we are punishing Nigeria? Think Again, but Kontinu.

I have been reliably informed, that the More Pipeline we blow-up, the more the Resolve of this President to get the Nigerian Economy off oil...The More the Presidency block loopholes; The More the desire for alternative Revenue; The More the Nigerian People get pissed off by our Stupidity.

The Future is Lost to the Greedy, Selfish Demons of Today. Blow Pipelines if you can, Nigeria is moving on. We have a President who is capable of making the hard decisions and willing to firmly sustain those hard choices. Blow Pipelines abeg. Let Nigeria Suffer and Let our land be wasted. Kontinu killing your own future by your own hands.
WEEP NOT FOR THE NIGER DELTA!!!
OUR ENEMIES ARE WITHIN!!!

indeed...hero that cudnt physically do any tangible tin in balyesa when in power...so na pmb una want blame for The neglect that una uncle GEJ caused? What And why stopped GEJ from remembering his so called neglected region? that's even more fact GEJ never did any tangible tinz including his own state. too bad. the so called avengers are just silly for causing unnecessary damage to oil installations as if that's The only solution they Could tink of....let Them hold their immediate leaders responsible And Not fg For Not doing anytin tangible for Them despite all the huge allocations they collect from fg.
