This will be a GAME-CHANGER in the sector if this can be pulled off under Fashola's tenure. Truth is, without such deregulation of transmission and decentralization of the grid, Fashola will FAIL like every past Minister that handled his portfolio, even he knows that. The deregulation of the sector will remain incomplete without transmission deregulation/grid decentralization following suit. Nigeria needs this like it needs air, else we will never solve this epileptic electricity problem. 10 Likes 3 Shares |

This is the final step in achieving full autonomy of the power sector. To be fair this is a continuation of what the Jonathan administration started. Les hope this time the process will be more transparent than the previous ones for the DISCOs. 5 Likes |

Well, some good news now coming out from the Power sector now that the budget has been signed. Fashola once said he can't wait to begin work. The time has come now to forever silence his critics who believe that because he is a SAN, he can't effectively manage the power sector. Here is the full text on his Electricity roadmap http://www.tundefashola.com/archives/news/2016/05/05/20160505N01.html 7 Likes |

It triggers a right step in the right direction. But what took him so long to attain this state of reasoning. Sha... Not your fault. When three major ministries are under your custody. You subtly don't think normal. |

afroniger:If they like let them Overcentralize and dissectalize, Fashola will fail, because he has already failed to plan. But ofcourse, he will pick up some loose change in the process. Power is actually ROCKET SCIENCE. |

Right step in the right direction. The beginning is important, but seeing it through to the end is more important |
Re: FG To Decentralise, Concession Transmission Grid -- Thisday by chinchum(m): 7:21pm On May 07, 2016 |
okosodo:steady progress indeed, maybe you meant merry go round. Obj achieved 4000MW before he left in 2007. By the way, the transmission arm of the power sector was not privatised, only the generation and distribution arm of the sector was privatised. 2 Likes |

DropShot: We need to watch out for a trend that will soon be coming from the wailers, as the FG continues to roll out projects now that the budget have been signed, watch how the wailers will claim that gej started it. This will be their next song to discredit PMB. 3 Likes 1 Share |
