Mppt is more efficient at higher voltages relative to the battery voltage than pwm solar charger. Get ur facts right!

@netotse...it may be 1500w, not sure...just know its 1600 or 1500w........besides u can still hook up 1600w even if the manual says 1500w, cos u cant hv 100% efficiiency...real life efficiencies/harvest is 50 to 85% on the average.......so if u hv 1500w...u may be getting 1200w on the average...n 1500w on rare occasions n not upto 1hr sef..
an mppt charge control is more efficient at voltages closer to its its default voltage.....thus for a 24v system...the cc will be more efficient at 48v than 72v or 96v.......
thats why i said the 3 string 2 panel setup may b more efficient.......cant rememeber the exact figures but i think its 88% at 72v and 90% for 48v..........u can d.load the epsolar manual online to xcheck

yup thicker cable is more expensive...and also more difficult to work with, the thickest/most common oem/weather proof solar cable i hv seen is 10awg=8mm abi 6mm sef........n max current it can handle is 20amps x 2 or so....so if u want thicker cables...u may hv to use piping to shield the cable from the elements, if u dont see oem weatherprrof 16mm or 10mm cables...shud u decide to go the 3string route

i said if ur hv a 24v for example, connecting ur array to feed the cc at 48v and at 96v or 134v, that u will hv the best efficiency at 48v.
u shud google what i wrote first, b4 challenging it.,,flipping tru the manual of any mppt charge controller will show you this commmon info i posted here is true!.

You are right...

With MPPT you ran as high of a voltage as you can. Every MPPT charge controller will tell you the most efficient voltage to run at a specific battery voltage. Example the Midnight Solar Classic 150 operating into a 12 volt battery is a Vmp of 90 volts. Look for yourself>>>>>

Now as you go up in battery voltage Vmp and battery voltage get closer, but for Midnite Solar 90 volts is optimum voltage for all battery voltages up to 48 volts.

The correct answer is look at the SPECS and weigh it against the distance you have to run the wiring.

Hello Dunka , the high class anodized rail can take up to 3 big panels . it totally depends on your panels size/wattage. The end & mid clamps with stainless steel hex bolt and flange nut can interlock 30-50mm solar panel frame..
