Panoro Energy ASA has a 6.502% interest in OML
113 which is operated by Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum (YFP) and is located in the extreme western part of offshore Nigeria adjacent to the Benin border. The licence contains the Aje field as well as a number of exploration prospects.
The Aje Field was discovered in 1997 in water depths ranging from 100-1,500m. Unlike the majority of Nigerian Fields which are productive from Tertiary age sandstones, Aje has multiple oil, gas and gas condensate reservoirs in the
Turonian, Cenomanian and Albian age sandstones. Five wells have been drilled to date on the Aje Field. Aje-1 and Aje-2 tested oil and gas condensate at high rates from the Turonian and Cenomanian reservoirs and Aje-4 confirmed the productivity of these reservoirs and discovered an additional deeper Albian age reservoir. Aje-5 was drilled in 2015 as a development well for the Cenomanian oil reservoir. The OML 113 license has full 3D seismic coverage from surveys acquired in 1997 and 2014.
In March 2014 the Government of Nigeria approved of the Aje Field Development Plan (“FDP”) and in October 2014 the Final Investment Decision (“FID”) for the project was made. The FDP describes a development of the Aje Cenomanian oil reservoir via two subsea wells, the new Aje-5 well and a re-completed Aje-4 well, and a leased FPSO. The initial 2 wells will produce an estimated mid case of 28.5MMbbls 41° API oil with production starting early 2016 at a rate of circa 1,100 bbls/day (net to Panoro).
Two further wells, Aje-6 and Aje-7, are expected to bring total Cenomanian oil production up to over 50 MMbbls. A third Turonian gas condensate development phase is being conceptualised and will likely involve 3 or 4 wells producing over 500 bcf of gas, 22 MMbbls of condensate and 40 MMbbls of LPG. The development project activity is well underway with works on the FPSO and subsea equipment completing. The drilling was completed in 4Q 2015 and will be followed by installation and production start-up.

are scheduled to start shortly to bring her into
specification for production on the Aje field.
Procurement of subsea equipment and the
contracting of a drilling rig for the Phase 1
development is also ongoing.
As part of Phase 1, the existing Aje-4 well will
be re-entered and completed and a new well
Aje-5, will be drilled. The Aje-5 well will be
drilled from a seabed location adjacent to Aje-4
and both wells will be connected via a subsea
manifold and production flowlines to the FPSO.
The Aje-5 well trajectory is designed to intersect
the Cenomanian reservoir close to where the
Aje-2 well intersected the Cenomanian reservoir.
This subsurface target has been selected since
Aje-2 demonstrated excellent productivity in a
Cenomanian production test conducted in 1997
where it flowed at 3,766 bopd of 41 API oil
despite the well sustaining significant
productivity impairment during drilling
operations.

There is also an associated gas plant, Abia/NNPC gas plant.[8] As of 2012, boundary Commission said it returned 42 oil wells from neighbouring Rivers State to Abia.[8] This would have meant Abia being fourth largest oil producing state in the county.[8] Oil giant, Shell, holds most of the licenses for the wells in the State and has concentrated on the estimated 50 wells that are considered high-yield. [7]The State produced 36,000 barrels of crude oil per day; "Imoturu produces 23,000 barrels per day and Isimili flow station produces over 8,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Then four oil wells in Izaku go to Obigo flow station. About 30 oil wells from my village go to Umuri and about eight oil wells from Umurie go to Afam", lamented Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Chairman of Abia State Oil Producing Development Area Commission, ASOPADEC.However, the State has complained of poor funding from its oil revenue federal allocation.

From there the company leveraged their expert in-house talent pool of technical and operational knowledge to grow the reserves and production in these assets in a cost effective manner.Today Addax Petroleum’s producing assets in Nigeria include 11 producing fields with approximately 80 producing wells in concession OML123, two producing fields with 17 producing wells in concession OML124, and another two producing fields with about 16 producing wells in concession OML126. The company is also continuing to progress with in-field exploration and appraisal activities and Field Development Planning that is expected to lead to a significant rise in both reserves and in production.Chikezie tells us, “Starting from a reserves base estimated by the previous operators of about 70 million barrels of oil, we’ve produced over 400 million barrels of oil and have 2P reserves of an additional 400 million barrels, alongside 5 million cubic feet of 2C gas resources. Where we can’t, for example, negotiate lower costs on our own we leverage on them to get favourable contractual terms.”Getting Recruitment Right Every Single TimeAddax Petroleum as a whole employs over 1,100 people, working in Nigeria, Gabon and Cameroon to Geneva, Houston and Aberdeen. By the standards of the oil industry, it’s actually a fairly compact workforce, but for Addax Petroleum this just means they have to be even more thorough about who they hire.“That’s the most challenging issue in the industry,” Chikezie admits. “We already have a good idea who we’re looking for. Not just technical and academic ability but the right balance of personalities. People who can work in teams are essential because these are small teams. We need self-starters who are professionally trained. Even if we take on a new graduate the first thing we do is expose them quickly to operational activities.”This means that when it’s time to bring new blood into the company, only the very cream of the crop make it through to a position with Addax Petroleum.As Chikezie says, “We have a very robust recruitment process. Nigeria finds oil and gas in commercial quantities in Anambra

30 tcf of gas and 1 bn barrels of crude oil has been found in the AnambraRiver basin in Anambra State, the Director of Engineering standard in the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Mr Patrick Onwumere, said in Awka.Mr Onwumere who led a team of experts to assess the volume of gas and crudereserves in the Anambra River basin as well as gauge the preparedness of the state government in the establishment of an indigenous refinery through its oilcompany, Orient Petroleum Resources, said the team was impressed with what it saw on the ground.His revelation was coming on the heels of a confirmation by the Managing Director of Orient Petroleum, Engr. Nnaemeka Nwawka that a large hectare of land for the construction of the refinery which would be sited at Otuocha inAnambra East Local Government area of the state had been mapped out. Nwawka added that the only thing delaying full acquisition of the land is the state governor's signature on the certificate of occupancy (CoO) for the land.According to Onwumene, his team's visit was a preliminary move which has to do with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the area, the level of land acquisition promised by the governor, and the examination of the extent of work done so far by the Orient Petroleum Resources.Onwumene also said he and members of his team were interested in seeing that the exploitation of oil and gas takes off earnestly in the state and expressed his team's satisfaction on the state's preparedness to accomplish their exploitation. He said Anambra State had three sources of oil supply which included, the existing local reserve from the Brass/Agip, import from Venezuela as well as the already discovered wells at Oroma-Etiti in Anambra West and Otuocha inAnambra East council areas of the state.Onwumene said his team found that the state's oil company, Orient Petroleum Resources had maintained good relationships with the host communities, especially those bordering where the refinery would be sited.
