if 3.98 is your CGPA after your first semester,that means you have 3 semesters to go, i'm afraid even if you make 5.0 in the remaining 3 semesters,you highest you can attain is 4.36. I wish you goodluck and I hope you maintain your 2.1

I don't think your analysis is correct. How did you calculate it that, even, 5.0 in his subsequent semesters would not be above 4.5?

I want to encourage everyone reading this to be positive and work harder.

My first GPA was 3.33 but graduated with 4.56 - Civil Engineering.

Your CGPA can increase steadily irrespective of how low it was at the beginning; also your CGPA shouldn't reduce.

With absolute help of God coupled with diligence and hard work, you will get to the top. Avoid unnecessary distractions, despite the fact that I was a key Exco in my fellowship for 3 sessions, I still made it up the ladder.

Let's assume the total unit per semester is 20

he has completed 5 semesters as at the end of 1st semester 300L

to get his total unit: 5 semesters * 20 = 100 units

his cgpa is 3.98,to get the total points after 5 semesters =
x/100 =3.98
* = 398

To get a 5.0 in each of the last semesters,his total point per semester would be
x/20 =5.0
X = 100

So his total points for each semesters is 100
for the remaining 3 semesters equals 300

add 300 to the existing total points(398) = 698

Remember 20 is the average unit per semester
for the remaining 3 semesters = 3 * 20 =60

Add 60 to the already existing 100 = 160

to get the total cgpa
total points/ total units
698/160 = 4.36

just make sure you get lot of 4-pointers till you graduate and you will surely make 2.1

It was a lot of struggle couple with all d pressure from the school itself. Almost gave up in 200l o when i saw my gp and it was 2.98 . But year 3 gave me hope and finals was my bestest 4.78
