epudomij: One simple lesson here that very many can learn from! You were honest and spoke naturally, not prepared speeches. You got your visa. So many others could learn from this simple lesson, well done. |

salsera: No it is someone asking for help to lie on a visa application. We get far too many, they come here where the Visa officer can read and openly and proudly talk about how they will lie on an application. |

tpiah01: Tnx for replying another thing is that there was a mistake when he was trying to get an appointment date. The agent he used made a mistake by using his visa fee digits for another person. But it was later cancelled. The problem is he hasn't gotten a mail yet to confirm the cancellation and please how many times can one cancel an appointment before the visa becomes invalid. Thanks in advance |

Please try to be as truthful as you can be. My husband is not based in Nigeria, while I was filling my US visa application i was advised NOT to declare that my husband isn't based in Nigeria, they said it would raise a red flag, it would spoil my chances because we don't have children yet so how do I justify that I will come back. When the person's wahala was getting too much i wrote the same address as my Nigerian address so the person would let me be. As soon as the person left I changed it back to the real address of the Country where my husband is based. Guess what? I got the visa and the ones who said they wouldn't grant me were ashamed. Yea it could be that I was lucky and God favoured me. Why not pray for the same. It pays to give the right information. so when he finally gets married and wants to apply again for his family he would say he divorced the first wife and married another right? Too much drama. 4 Likes |

shamstiel have you gotten the visa or applying for one? I'm not familiar with the scenario you described, you might have to contact the embassy and ask them. |

tpiah01: I am asking for a uncle who doesn't know his way around and I am not familiar with his situation. He has gotten a confirmation but a mistake was made in his appointment date. His visa fee ID was used for someone else by mistake. But a mail was sent to the embassy to cancel the appointment he is worried if it worked because a confirmation of cancelled appointment hasn't been sent. OK, if you still don't understand let me make it clearer. If I made a mistake in filling my appointment date but I used someone else's visa fee ID (the number that comes with the visa receipt) am I safe if I go along with it or should I cancel? And if I cancel can I still re-apply? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Shamstiel: 3:16pm On May 09, 2016 |
LagosNIV: Woah! Ok, so a cancellation has been made. Can he still reapply with the same visa? And how many days does it take for a visa to be cancelled because he did that one Friday and still he hand seen a mail yet. I am sorry if my questions are not clear enough 1 Like |

worry359: I am not assisting him with telling lies. He actually filled in married himself I didn't help him with that... I am just looking out for a loved one. He a was denied visa once when "they" realised he had no ties to the country. I guess that was why he "changed" his status |

Good afternoon @everyone @justwise @ladyguinivere Please I have a 17yrs old nephew and 21yrs old niece that want to apply for visa for vacation. My question now is can the mum follow them for their interview ?or they go alone? how can both of them get the same day of appointment? After filing their seperate DS 160 forms. I will appreciate your responses. Thank you. God bless Note- their mum has a B1-B2 visa and used it last year. |

@lady Guinivere Please i need guide on how to properly present my case during my interview I got an iv from my brother in law And im currently a full time university student here in nigeria. 1. Do i present my student status as a tie(azin izit strong enough) 2. Is it an advantage or disadvantage for my brother in law who invited me to be footing the whole travel bills 3. Do i need to have any other purpose of travel aside visitation eg. Like student's conference/work shop. 4. I know i'll get the visa but what is the possible length of approved stay if i use my student status as a tie. One love. |

coachee1:The truth is that with all due respect, your questions show that u are yet to understand how the whole process works. And clearly, you are looking too be coached on how to 'package' your interview. If u want to apply, apply and fill exactly the truth 1. One does not 'present' ties. The vo decides what your ties are. 2. It may. It may not. The vo will consider your whole application. 3. U state the reason why u are travelling. You don't need to be coached on why u want to travel. 4. 6 months is the max you are stamped in for. That depends on the cbp |

I want to use this medium to thank everyone that has taken time to post their transcripts here. They have all been helpful to people like me. i have bn reading this section for close to 4 months before i even submitted my application online and book my interview. i must confess that reading everything here has been helpful. I told God that i am going to post my transcript. i think God matters in US interview because i saw a single guy that has only been to Ghana that was given. he was goin on visiting. it is just God and proper filling of ur DS 160 form. i was only asked 3 questions today n i was approved. i didnt mind any CO because i believe God can only choose for one at that point in time. Saw ppl approved n denied but didnt pay attention to anybody just waiting for my own turn. transcript: VO: Good mornin Me: Good mornin( i was entangled in fear being the first time) VO: why/where are u goin to in US( I dint hear weda is why or where) i dint hear her properly Me: am goin to NY to attend a conference VO: wat s d conference title Me: d conference is on........ VO:wat do u do Me: i work as an ..... wit so so company VO: typing profusely VO: Hav u travelled outside Nigeria before Me: I have bn to Ghana n The Gambia VO: Typing- pls come back in the next 3 days for ur visa. i dint hear d rest. collected my white paper n was just laughing...it dint last 4 mins thank u everyone. 11 Likes |

Shamstiel: Oh, and by the way, since you mentioned your uncle used an agent, bear in mind the response from one of the VO's (abujaniv) on page 2 of the following thread, https://www.nairaland.com/2991174/u.s-student-visa-f1-m1/2: "First of all, NEVER use an agent for help with a visa. Anyone that charges you for advice or has tricks and tips to get a visa, will do you more harm than good. We have seen very good applicants get refused because some agent incorrectly filled out their DS160 or provided them with fake documents or travel stamps. They do not have your best interest at heart - you should only rely on U.S. sponsored pages such as www.travel.state.gov, www.usembassy.nigeria.gov, and https://educationusa.state.gov/ to name a few." |

You can also call the Embassy on 014406218 they ask for d passport Number and ask a few details of the person. They will change it @ their end and send u a mail showing the new DS number. You can also reprint the appointment from your profile once u get the mail. (however, u must listen very well to hear what they are saying on the phone. I had to keep saying pardon, can u repeat that again) kennycanny: 1 Like |
