Crisis Brews In APC Over Tinubu’s Refusal To Repay Atiku’s N1bn Campaign Loan by VillageParrot: 8:22pm On May 09, 2016
Crisis is said to be brewing between APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over the refusal of the former to repay a loan of N1 billion reportedly collected from the latter during the 2015 presidential campaign, SIGNAL can report.

A source familiar with the details told SIGNAL on Monday that both political heavyweights may be heading for a showdown over the development.

According to the source who did not want to be named, Atiku loaned Tinubu the sum of N1 billion in 2015 for the financing of deficits incurred during the APC presidential campaign with a promise to repay immediately after the elections. Crisis between the two titans began when months after the election, Tinubu refused to repay the debt, rebuffing Atiku’s attempts to broach the subject.

“Both men have managed to keep the issue out of the media space because of the sensitive nature, but there is a strong bone of contention between them. The issue is that Tinubu obtained a loan of N1 billion from Atiku during the 2015 presidential campaign and promised to repay the loan after the elections, but he’s not even ready to talk about it now and Atiku is sore pissed”, the source said.

Attempts by SIGNAL to contact Sunday Dare and Paul Ibe, spokespersons to Tinubu and Atiku respectively proved abortive at the time of filing this report.

However, further checks by SIGNAL through other relevant top level sources on Monday confirmed a brewing rift between the Jagaban of Borgu and the Turaki Adamawa over the said N1 billion loan.

Shouldn't EFCC be tracing such fund's sources?
Oh,they are APC,they are free to go.
Meanwhile, atiku should hold on a bit,let aregbesola, ambode and co raise some allocation. Once their state's allocation improve,he will get his money

Thank you! Atiku should be patient, the budget was only passed a few days ago and no doubt his campaign expenses would be in the proposed N350b to be injected into the system immediately to reflate it. I wonder how much refund saraki would ask for. Little by little, the picture is getting clearer.

He's the self acclaimed APC national leader, who during the primaries in lagos mobilised against Atiku's candidature. So I advice him to pay his debt since the money was loaned to him(tinubu)

Atiku should please exercise some patience cos the recently passed budget of faaji has lots of goodies and spoils of war to settle debts and ROI.

Now that the 5% avengers are demanding full resource control, The whole equation is under threat. The Niger Delta deserves more respect from the geographical expression called Nigeria.

That's chicken change for jagaban to offset cos his boy ambode just internally generated over 100 billion. Tinubu is just not interested in repaying the loan. Atiku can go to court.
