Wife of the President Mrs Aisha Buhari was at the National Assembly earlier today for the first public hearing of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) Bill.

The Bill sponsored by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara seeks to charge the proposed commission with the responsibility to "receive and manage funds from the allocation from the federation account and international donors for the settlement, rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads, houses, and business premises of victims of insurgency; and for other matters connected there with"

"This morning,to show my unwavering support for the establishment of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), I was at the first public hearing of the bill. I believe that for rapid development to come to the region,a concerted and organized effort must be made. I am Aisha Muhammadu Buhari and I support the NEDC bill 100%" said Mrs Buhari.

A bill that seeks to transfer a sizeable portion of the nation's allocation to an agency that would see some politicians from the north east receive billions in the name of rehabilitating and reconstructing north-east.
Atiku had already held a meeting with legislators from the north east on the how to control to the wealth that will be controlled by this agency.
Aisha too may be lining up her own interested firms to receive her own billions in the name of contracts from the NEDC.
They are already washing their hands to eat up this new coming 'national cake'.
But why would they be thinking of setting up a a commission to rebuild and reconstruct damages done by bokoharam when the terrorists themselves have not been done away with. Which contractors would send in their staff to those towns to rebuild projects?

I have no issue with the North East Development Commission (NEDC) as long the effort is made to fund it from the proceeds of their agricultural and mineral resources!

If you won't be bias and just pure hateful, you would see that it is only necessary that the northeast after all that havoc that was wrecked in the region is given this kind of attention. it doesn't mean "we're giving the country to the north" and also, if you want to thread that path, this country has always belonged to the north, that is why the east who won't accept things and leave them the way they are feel the silly need to secede.. but believe me, no revolt or plans of secession can divide this country, so don't waste your breath
