The gentle man in the picture on suit (without a tie) is Mr Sadiq Khan the new Mayor of London. Elections were conducted last Thursday (May 5, 2016) he scored majority of the votes and was returned as Mayor. He resumed work on Monday 8 May 2016. Please note the following facts:

1. He is at the Bus Stop waiting to catch a bus to work. This is the Mayor of one of the biggest cities in the world. No retinue of security men or assistants following him about and no motorcade.

2. He is the son of immigrants yet he won an election into such a prestigious office in a very conservative society.

So much for us Africans to learn about democracy and political office.

A whole Mayor of London just waiting by the Bus stop to pay his fare and go to his office same as anyone. Nobody is with him, no security or staff. The out going Mayor uses bicycle. Even in a hundred years, Nigerian democracy will not get to this level

I tell ya.

Not like Nigeria where every body is like I must drive.

I keep wondering why we must all drive to work every day in Lagos.

If it was in Lagos, you would have seen a lot of people gathering around him to either ask for money and to praise him.

That man and the lady behind don't even care.

That's the 21st century, OP. Here in Nigeria, we are still stuck in the 17th century. Hence, the difference!

Man is nothing. Our Nigerian mentality is one filled with self aggrandizement and brutish intimidation of people they ought to serve.

We pray someday our Nigerian politicians would evolve beyond the animal instincts in them.Poor souls. This life is a fleeting one.

That is a man that is going control the budget of over £40 billion pounds and yet doesnt have an official car or budget for cloths. Nigerian politicians won't copy that one never.
