David Cameron calls Nigeria and Afghanistan 'fantastically corrupt' From the section UK Politics David Cameron and the Queen Image caption The PM was speaking with the Queen, the archbishop of Canterbury, Speaker John Bercow and Commons Leader Chris Grayling David Cameron has described Nigeria and Afghanistan as "fantastically corrupt" in a conversation with the Queen. The PM was talking about the forthcoming anti-corruption summit when he made the comments. It was not clear whether he knew the comments were being recorded. "We've got some leaders of some fantastically corrupt countries coming to Britain... Nigeria and Afghanistan, possibly the two most corrupt countries in the world," Mr Cameron said. Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby intervened to say: "But this particular president is not corrupt... he's trying very hard," before Speaker John Bercow said: "They are coming at their own expense, one assumes?" The government will host world and business leaders at the summit on Thursday in London, aiming to "galvanise a global response to tackle corruption". This is the reason why Nigerians must support the anti corruption drive by the Buhari government The UK PM is a typical British person with their condescending attitude, but there is some element of truth in his statement 122 Likes 8 Shares |

It's so sad reading about how this foreign leaders talk about us without respect but truth be told, we are responsible for all the insult and abuses. We are a terribly corrupt country with terribly corrupt leaders and followers. For once, we have a president who is trying to clean up the corrupt system and some citizens are fighting and urging him to stop the war on corruption. We've even seen cases where some youths have mounted serious protest against the trials of politicians who are standing trial for corruption under the guise that the trial is political witch hunt. If we want to earn the respect of the international community, we need to change our shameless support for corrupt leaders and support the president's effort to wage serious war on corrupt former officials. 171 Likes 15 Shares |

Is Cameron a wailer or a member of IPOD? I believe he has more information than any zombie, dead or undead, to make this statement. If after hearing this government say Abacha loot was money taken illegally anybody thinks Buhari is not a thief then the person is condemned to a lifetime of stupidity. 31 Likes |

Our legal system is the biggest joke right now...for far too long, giving succor to those that have rinsed out the country. The SANs and the corrupt judges giving the thieving ingrates more impunity to sit easy even with mounting evidence. I don't agree with Mr cameron's adjective however. 6 Likes |

This sum it all up for me.. Buhari is not Jona.. ...... "but the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby said: "But this particular president is actually not corrupt." Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari and Afghan President Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, who are both planning to attend the summit, have acknowledged corruption in their countries and have pledged to clean it up. . . . . . . and Cameron even confirmed that. So we all know which Government he was talking about. wailers => Take handkerchief!! 41 Likes 6 Shares |

Obijulius: Watch the video there. In the Video, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby said: "But this particular president is actually not corrupt." and there was an affirmation to that comment from David Cameron. This shows that they knew at least our President is not Corrupt as you guys have made us to believe. They got more intelligence on Buhari than u lots http://www.reuters.com/article/us-global-taxavoidance-cameron-idUSKCN0Y11NW 27 Likes 3 Shares |

Incredible. We were told a Buhari Presidency would restore our pride by not selling us for his own personal endorsement. Let us see if Buhari would be his father's son on this, or he would prefer Cameron's endorsement over the pride of Nigeria. |
