Below is a picture of Cassper Nyovest (a successful South African high school drop-out) burning books and a picture of a university graduate sweeping the streets.

Now the big question is: How are we going to convince the future generations that Education is the key to Success when they are surrounded with successful school drop-outs and poor jobless graduates?

I guess it all hinges on your definition of success....

If by success, you mean make money, marry, give birth, die and have an expensive funeral; then you can never be convincing.

But if by success, you mean making a mark in the world long after you're gone, making your name known to generations for doing something meaningful to the human society, then education is the same.

Take a look; Cassper Nyvopest and the dude that graduated with 5.0,..

There will always be another Nyvopest, another hip and hot rapper.....

But the Unilag dude has written his name on metal! Can never be erased again.....

That's the difference undecided

I respect your view on this. Look at 2Baba for example, a school drop-out who just received an honorary doctorate degree from Igbinedion University. Has he not engraved his name on the minds of many?
And I will tell you, that unilag student has more to do than just going around with 5.0 cumulative otherwise, nobody remembers him.

Dear sir, you seem to misunderstand me.
The dude with the 5.0 Cgpa will forever have more respect at least intellectually than 2face ever will.

The point I was trying to make was that Education gives you a level of respect; your certificate literally speaks for you.

Tell me, between a person with a MR title and a person with a DR title (ph.D); who will you likely listen to more

Assuming of course, all things are equal.
