thefakestan: This is how I think they arrived at N145. If the govt provided forex for these marketers at the official rate then ninety something naira would be possible. However, these marketers would be sourcing for dollars at the parallel market. I don't think it's coincidence that the ratio N320:N197 is almost equal to N145:N86 |

kokaneprodigy:Exactly, the government in power are complete dullards My question is, has subsidy been removed? Cos i didn't see that clearly stated in that press release. I'll hate to hear subsidy is being paid while we buy at this price.Let's asked Omenka let's see how he will deftly cover up for the deceitfulness of the government of the day. Where is oga Tom West and Fashola the lawyer that doesn't sign cheques but could calculate how Goodluck should have sold fuel for #40. Hypocrisy everywhere. My brother, their hypocrisy stinks. NLC and TUC quiet am I missing something? It's quite unfortunate that our labour unions and activists have gone cold. This is dangerous for our democracy. We really need to be patriotic and stop playing politics with everything. The likes of Omenka, Dropshot, Seunmgr, Ngenekwenu, Passingshot, etc are still shouting sai baba. This reminds me so much of the zombies in the movie World War Z. I pray we don't all get infected from the zombie virus in that movie and start behaving like zombies who don't think with their brain but are all wired to do the same thing...... 1 Like |

omarky:Will u keep quiet!!!! Who's being sentimental here. After airing programmes on TV and radio to create awareness on importance of subsidy removal, including town hall meetings lead by sanusi and iweala, meetings with TUC and NLC etc for months, governors were even involved then cos i still remember Oshiomole being a proponent of subsidy removal during GEJ's tenure yet people were still paid to protest. I still remember an advert saying something abt villagers that don't use petroleum products don't really benefit from subsidy, etc. How else is he suppose to carry pple along? We woke up to this news today and u are telling me abt a round table no one knows abt. Get out of here if u have nothing reasonable to say !!! unlike you, we are not suffering from short memory and myopic thinking. You even sound sluggish and unintelligent, reason they call y'all zombies. You must find a way to defend ur pay masters, unpatriotic being. 9 Likes 1 Share |

kokaneprodigy:in 2012 we don't waste time writing epistle... It is now your own turn to fight for the masses. Those that fought in 2012 are not professional activists, they are fellow Nigerians like you. As it stand today most of them are tired and given up on the system. It is time for people like you that supported GEJ to go to the street to fight for the masses. Na turn by turn |

Until nigeria can refine enough crude to produce petrol products in sufficient quantities for domestic use it will be at the mercy of the forex market and the fuel importers cabal. Any administration that doesn't work towards increasing refining capacity is not serious about tackling petroleum product shortages. Sadly this has been the case since obasanjo was president till date. The future is forsaken. |

Honestly, I'm not bother about this announcement because for over three months, the least I have bought in PH is 130. However if this is the change we really clamored for, then we are doomed. But I want to assumed that the government is already making moves to increase minimum wage to the proposed 56,000. If not I practically I practically don't see how an ordinary Nigeria will survive this. Even without the official increment, things are already expenses. I just hope Nigerians will make this huge sacrifice and the future will enjoy it. I pray the resources saved due this hardship will be maximally utilized to pay off in the future |

BakireBulmaker:there is no justification for subsidy removal... It is rubbish. U are given licenses to elites and the rich to build refineries and you are destroying local illegal refineries yet you are removing subsidy. Let everybody produce oil as they can, let people import oil as they wish... What is the nonsense of removing subsidy yet u are fixing stupid prices, and you are given some selected few licenses to import fuel... Allow everybody to import as they want... Even if na drum or Jeri can... Allow people to do their local refining...then we will know u are serious about de-relugation. Anything aside that is 2012 all over again and we all know the end result... A DETESTED PRESIDENT |
