I just wonder sometimes, How do we actually manage in this country? Jobs are scarce Things are expensive, nothing seems to be working. Ok you manage to get a job and they are pricing 30k a month, you take it so as not to be idle and to avoid being stricken by hunger. You're lucky as you are helped by a friend as regards accommodation. One week into the job and you've lost weight. The riguors of climbing buses upandan and eating just twice a day with one of the meals being 100 naira fried yam. You decide to cook to save yourself some cash, you go to the market to buy ingredients for stew and soup, you get home and realized you were duped lol. Tomatoes no reach anything, everything just costly You manage to cook, food finishes in 3 days Nd u realize you've spent just about the same as if you had eaten outside. Transport cutting your neck steadily, no light, you have to buy fuel to put on generator to pump water and put on fridge, else you cooked food spoils or you warm you small jollof till it becomes white rice. Now there's gonna be like a 75 percent increase in the price of fuel. You salary remains the same, transport sky rockets, mind you light situation remains the same, so you still have to buy your usual fuel. Foodstuff increases, stress increases as you have to walk from certain distances to help augment your transport fair, further reduction in weight, Fear of the unknown wont make you quit, yet you don't need to open burglary proof as you can just pass through it cos of weight loss.. You are returning home late one day cos of the long distance you had to walk and get mobbed, small phone gone, money gone, you don't even have money to buy fried yam that evening. And you graduated with a good grade, your younger ones look up to you, your friends look up to you.. You are smart, intelligent, but still suffering.. How do we repair this country? Is it beyond repair.. At least in our generation.. What have we done wrong to deserve such, why do we have to pay for the indiscretions of our leaders past and present, People are hungry and yet you still see them fighting online over pdp and apc.. Is this the kind of life we are meant to live, Just so you know, power generation isn't a global problem anymore yet we can't boast of half a day of uninterrupted power... In a country that is supposed to be a major oil producer.. I don't know what to say again sef... This isn't life at allllll.... I think we the present day youth/job seekers are the worst hit in Nigeria's history. In the 60's to 80's there were many jobs, few people,.. In the 90's more people joined the labor force, twas not difficult getting a good job.. Economy was still alright 2000's and we were still ok.. Now 2 million people applying for a job of 10 slots.. What becomes of the remaining 1,999,990 people? 10 Likes 8 Shares |

Yorex you've spoken well and I quite agree with the points you raised, including the questions asked. But something tells me that every generation be it in the 60s or 90s were plagued with some sort of national crisis and even though they had no issues securing admission into uni and getting multiple job offers, there was still sth like a clog in the wheel of progress of our beloved country. Our problem is us. The trouble with Nigeria is not outside but within. The people we put our trust in and sent to represent US are representing themselves only. Selfishness has eaten deep like a cankerworm into our nation state. *sigh* What am I saying sef? I hate to discuss politics in public. The truth is there is no selfless leader yet in Nigeria. The fear of the unknown is making them stash taxpayer's money away in other countries. I think our 'saviour' hasn't been born like the beautiful ones are not yet born. When the fellow comes into power, we'll have the Nigeria of our dreams. |

tall2ce:Just to add to Lastmumu's recommendation, in cases where Word document is a requirement instead of PDFs you can try to manage the problem by using fonts, formats and insertions that will most likely be generally available e.g. sticking to Times New Roman as a universally available font 1 Like |

amicable09:It's not about those representing us alone, even the represented is just as guilty. We the represented people in our small offices too are not left out in the gig of money stashing, cutting corners and celebrating everything that represents wrong. An average Nigerian has been adjusted to living with the wrong things as right on so many levels and it has become so normal that we hardly recognise them anymore 1 Like |

Re: Jobs/vacancies Section Chatroom by amicable09(f): 7:11am On May 13, 2016 |
ProudOlodo:Why won't the represented act like their representatives? We learn/copy wrong fast. Yesterday on the radio, a man called lamenting that for 15 years he's been on a job with salary of 46,000 NGN, no increase, no decrease! He started the job as a bachelor and as at yesterday he's a married man with three children who go to school and eat food daily! Now you mean to tell me if the dude has access to vouchers he won't falsify figures? Oh please! Nigerian bourgeoisie are just sth else and then someone from somewhere will come out and say "BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE", of course the change is to see that my children don't go to bed hungry. So what are you hinting me on? There's no guilty one mehn! If you are still sane and haven't messed with data, I say kudos! It's not about the other person but remain true to yourself. |

Re: Jobs/vacancies Section Chatroom by ProudOlodo: 7:32am On May 13, 2016 |
amicable09:Lol. But haba, that man too didn't try. The way I see it, if he really loved those children and didn't like to see his children go to bed hungry, why bring 3 children into a family living on 46,000NGN monthly. It pays better to always count one's costs. If he did, he most likely would be able to make better choices than he'll need to make now. That's the beginning of being the change that we want |

amicable09:@ the boldened I will eat the suya'd meat and give you the DonJazzy line "amicable, you want the birthright abi...come an' collect it" History is so we can learn from the past |
Re: Jobs/vacancies Section Chatroom by amicable09(f): 7:42am On May 13, 2016 |
ProudOlodo:Lol. You blame a family man now for having children abi? Na just 3 o, how many him employer get? Nobody wishes to bring in children to this world to suffer but then when a woman takes in what should they do? Birth their baby of course. And that's how they got to that point. The change we seek isn't in tying a wife's womb or making a husband sterile. It is in creating a society where citizens can afford to live comfortably and raise children who will surpass their achievements. 1 Like |

Re: Jobs/vacancies Section Chatroom by ProudOlodo: 8:01am On May 13, 2016 |
amicable09:Hahahahahaha. The man should kuku go and try his employer's lifestyle na...the house, the cars, the vacations, the daily expenses, etc. Everyone just need to make rational decisions and live within their means. From conception to birth, that man and his wife can't tell me they didn't know what they were doing...and thrice! I can wish to have 12 children but when my income and economic prospects are telling me otherwise, I need to listen. Now, how do you expect such a man to make rational decisions and not mismanage a nation if given the chance cos he will keep trying to live by conformity. A society is just a congregation of several families and what the society stands for are derived from the family 1 Like |
Re: Jobs/vacancies Section Chatroom by amicable09(f): 8:15am On May 13, 2016 |
ProudOlodo:Lol. ProudOlodo see how you are blaming the common man. He didn't say in 15 years, he has fathered 15 children o but we have leaders who have children within and without, we don't look into how they lead their families before voting them into office or before they imposed themselves on us in most cases. The man hasn't done any wrong joor, he needs a raise in salary as the prices of goods and services is increasing. |

Re: Jobs/vacancies Section Chatroom by huntax(m): 8:22am On May 13, 2016 |
amicable09:I totally agree. Neither political party has a plan in place to repair this country. Take for instance, the PMS increase. A sensible government would increase the minimum wage before increasing pump price of petrol. The federal minimum wage, according to the law, should be reviewed every 5 years. Nothing has changed since the days of Abdul salaam. I can't count how many times PMS per liter has been increased since then. My point is, the government isn't sensitive to the suffering of it's people. Until that starts to happen, we won't see changes in this country. |
Re: Jobs/vacancies Section Chatroom by amicable09(f): 8:33am On May 13, 2016 |
huntax:Exactly! Minimum wage is now- as it was in the beginning, so it is now and ever shall be. Constant! |
Re: Jobs/vacancies Section Chatroom by ProudOlodo: 8:44am On May 13, 2016 |
amicable09:Lol No o, I'm not blaming a common man o. Surely the man needs a raise. I'm just trying to say that I don't expect that man to be better than the leaders he's complaining about. If that man has access to public funds, just like them he'll not have a problem living larger than his real pocket's worth. And he'll have nothing to complain about nor care about a better society 1 Like 1 Share |

Revolution! Revolution!! Revolution!! We need more Marxist and maybe Neo-marxist orientated individuals!! This is appalling! Amicable just got a job. Before she accepted that job, she would have factored in transportation cost, feeding and what not. She would have considered how much she would get to save and probably invest in masters or business. But Alas, all that is about to change. You see the stupidity of the government and how selfish they are, made them increase pump price at d wrongest time!! No increase in salary, nothing! The same clueless man who initially argued that there was nothing like subsidy, saying subsidy doesn't exist. Now he removed subsidy. They subsidy will benefit us all, infrastructure etc. What happened to the sure-p plan? Which was a result of the partial subsidy removal by GEJ! Bear in mind, our public officials are the highest paid in d world. Indeed, we are fantastically corrupt!! 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Jobs/vacancies Section Chatroom by amicable09(f): 9:41am On May 13, 2016 |
Rvp you are a Marxian scholar? Lol I read a shared post this morning on the advantages of subsidy removal and I just mouthed 'Beautiful Nonsense'! The OP, his moniker I can't remember and because I don't want to start a debate on that thread this morning I let it go. How can you say that because the 'rich', business owners and those at the top consume over 50 litres of petrol daily therefore subsidy should be removed cos according to the govt, 'they' benefit more. The mere fact that an average citizen runs his generator daily and pays tfare is enough for a right thinking President to come up with a plan that doesn't kill the masses. But they called it downstream kinikon... mtshew. The bitter truth is we will all adjust and in a matter of months, it will look normal. 1 Like |
