cckris: When it comes to removal of fuel subsidy...there is no right time. And as far as the capitalist system is concerned....removing fuel subsidy does not depend on situation......all we are here for is to make money. I have supported removal of fuel subsidy since 2012....and have been following the arguments since 1993. And one thing that remains consistent for fuel subsidy maintenance activists (the apolitical ones)...is that removing it will make the poor suffer. There is no ''right time'' for removal of fuel subsidy. Even GEJ's time was not right (we were still importing most of the fuel we consumed.....and no new refineries. That did not make the intended decision wrong). 1 Like |

AtlanticBreeze: Fashola punishing the igbos? The second Niger bridge will finally leave the drawing board, the exclusive domestication of China bound flights at Enugu airport with inland port status, the Yuan currency swap are all part of the victimization I guess. I won't mention the Calabar - Lagos rail line since you don't seem to feel Calabar has any transport affinity to the East. I won't mention eastern road construction either. Of course an expansion of th electrical grid will intentionally omit the east. Laughable. If this is punishment Fashola should please spread his " punishment" across Nigeria |

omenka: I don't quote people. I usually just comment the way I feel might not be right totally but that is why there is what we call individual differences. I can recall your picture of 14 Feb with your woman and judging from your looks you must be in your 30's. You go about nairaland attacking peoples opinions and personalities it doesn't tell well of someone born in the 80s. I think we should apply decorum and set an example for our younger ones on nairaland. People must not agree with you always. That's why it is a democracy and there is freedom of speech. Just say how you feel and move ahead. You really sou d bitter atimes |

jaybee3:See farm produce wasting in Katsina in early 2016. If you've ever imported stuff, not to talk of attempting to produce things, you'll KNOW the difference between theory & practise. They're TALKING of producing PENCILS. Nigerians are waiting, but patience isn't forever.

fiizznation: My dear sometimes some of us approach issues with so much sentiments, emotions and selfishness; to be honest with u, the govt is confused, nobody advices PMB cos all of them are scared and are loyalists. Right now he's just after doing what he feels will sound good in the ears of the learned and has left effect on the high and mighty. What we are all saying is don't just give or impose on us, ur good intentions but do it with timing and season cos both controls everything all the sun. In Nigeria, I can confidently say that two things mostly affects the price of goods, namely; transportation - determined by fuel price, which also affect power required for production though the effect is minimal and the second factor is foreign exchange reason been that we import most of our products. To me, I think the govt should have stabilised the availability of fuel even if its at 100 or 120/L, then with all the money we've recovered from loot and ghost workers supposed earnings, tackle the key factors one after the other but our govt approch everything at once and by the end of their tenure they accomplish none, if not by now, one or two years in a tenure could have settled health care issue, another transportation, another education, power etc with all the tenures that have come and gone none accomplished or curbed one of the nations problem instead they keep handing it over. God help us! |

Quakertellicus1:The Economy is about Land, Labour(people), Capital(money), Technology, Obsolescence, Innovations, etc. And MONEY has TIME values. Even overnight values, what happened in 1984, & will happen in 2016, when Buhari associates buy dollars at 200 naira, & resell at 400. Igbo Importers aren't interested in nairaland CYBER SPHERE arguments. |

Chimighty007:A confused government won't introduce TSA, A confused government won't make its budget a zero budgeted one, A confused government won't deregulate its oil sector, A confused government won't be able to make China to pump $6billion into its economy, A confused government won't be able to bail out state governments, A confused government won't be able to reach 5000 megawatts of power generation in some few months{though some internal factor and sabotage has made our power generation dropped below 5000}, A confused government won't have be able technically defeat boko haram, etc. I didnt vote for buhari nor jonathan, but trust me, i believe this government is getting its priority right my friend. |

The budget is just realised with details on how it will disbursed into the verious units, Buhari, apc members have started seening progress. I just find it extremely difficult todetect the lying spirit moving in their brain regions sich that no prayer could remove it. They used lies to push GEJ and pdp out and uptill now there is very severe infact very very serious hardship, they will always deny. Anyway, na gullible Nigerians I go blame |

AtlanticBreeze:The rabid hatred some of you have for Buhari and his govt has gone beyond normal politics, it now transcends human understanding. It is a fact that the only area where the so called unfortunate 5% statement has applied has been in terms of appointments. I doubt you can prove me wrong. Besides the Lagos-Ibadan road which got a major capital input and which shot-up the budget aggregate for the SW zone, to the best of my knowledge, the spread of capital budget allocation has been fair across the regions. Several devisive individuals and groups have released some inciting but obviously flawed publications highlighting how other zones got several billions in capital allocation while the entire SE got only a measly figure in millions. These reports are obviously false and are meant to incite political and tribal hatred for buhari; details of the true budget has been reported severally by the media so I wonder why some people continue to beat themselves over this obvious propaganda. If I am wrong, kindly point out how or where the so called 5% has been cheated besides in terms of appointments?.... and may I also add that even in terms of appointments, not just the 5% has been cheated, the other 5 zones of the nation has been cheated as buhari seems to give sensitive appointments to only people he claims to trust from his zone. |
