kindly talk to those contract staff in banks, they signed a contract of like 2years with their respective agent, deducting about 30% from their salary, yours is just 50% for 3months. grab it abeg, ise won lode o.

I do not think it is fair on the job seeker. In a saner society, their services should be paid by the benefiting company because the agency is doing the work of the HR department. But like most Nigerians would agree, anything goes here.

Tell the guy, recruitment agencies will deduct your money for life as long as you remain with them, they don't care if na shit u dey help them pack when you get to the place they sent you or if you are washing pant for your boss, they don't care as long as say money dey pay..lol

You just addressed the companies as "Employment Agencies"

An agent is one who acts as on behalf of another in a contractual relationship to provide information and agreed support. This relationship doesn't exist for free, it's professional so the services has to be paid for.

Now, the issue should be; are the charges reasonable and fair?

Outsourcing is about the provision of services to organisations who ordinarily would have handled the outsourced functions internally but rather decided to outsource in order to focus on their core competencies/functions or business.

Employees are given Offer of Employment Letters which detail the Gross remunerations of the concerned staff, and this is strictly adhered to. They also deliberately domicile the salary accounts of their employees working in the Banks with the respective Banks they are posted to, so as to allow for transparency. This gives the Bank the privilege to check if they short change the employees.

They do not have any need to deduct your salary when you get the job because they are paid professional fees by the clients they provide outsourcing services to.
you are mixing it up bro, it's a 2type thing.
some company outsource to the agent then tell the agent to get the staff, in this case, the agent get his commission in bulk or monthly base on a certain cumulative amount or monthly percentage.
another scenario is that the agent conduct the recruiting process, agreed on a percentage with you the employee, seek for any company that will pay you, then the company will give a standing order to that effect.
the implication of the former is that if 2persons are working for the same organization, the agent will get the same commission on both, while for the latter, the 2 of them might not remit same commission depending on their negotiating power, however, the agent might have a negotiating power big enough to charge them both the same commission.

not really bad to pay them for like 2 to 3 months, they functioned as a bridge, press buttons for you, you should pay them. but I have prob with those that collect salary on your behalf and give you out of it, that one is modern day slavery. those that ask you to subscribe yearly too are fraud, they don't get the job for you, you pay them to submit your CV and if you don't get d job, not their biz cause you v paid them in advance.

Yes, they don't collect any money from you until you get the job and pay the agreed amount.

@Op, I know some recruitment agencies that would always collect a certain percentage of all your salaries; this is because your employer pays them rather than pay you. These agencies for example might negotiate to be paying you 100k while in actual sense, they are receiving 150k from your employer monthly.

Examples are security recruitment outfits and even some popular recruitment agencies. I wouldn't want to mention names.
Na, this case is different the OP is talking about recruiting agencies, 1while ure talking about Contractors

50 % is too much, 20 percent in 3months is better, you know how hard the country is, even 50% may not sort transport and feeding for a month you know

Yea but according to their policy, they only forward your application to a company they know will pay far better than what you're currently earning, such that even after paying the 50%, what is left in your pocket will still be more than your previous salary and you pay them for only two or three months.

They may take legal action against you. Remember, you signed an undertaking that you wil pay. But why will someone think about not paying after all they have done for you and after you willingly signed an undertaking?

Some of you guys saying you need a link to the agent for job.If you eventually got the job through the agent,by the time they remove the percentage for 3 month you go begin fight them.

Some agents are dubious.My friend had a bitter experience with one.He approached the agent for a job.After paying registration fee and others which runs to about #3k he was given a letter to submit to a company.When he got there,the company said they don't know the agent.When he opened the letter to read it content.It read that the company should be paying his salaries into the,agent,account number they provided in the letter.My guy weak.
