someone like Me no even need engineer unless I am not around or I am in money and busy to monitor it myself.

My Oga go even sack me if him hear say I put engineer for my site cos he will ask what I learned with over 4years working in his company.

My boss is a bloody illiterate but he is an expert in construction and a bloody millionaire. He has built different buildings here in tunisia. He will rubbish you and the crap u claimed you studied in university about building construction grin

I mixed all the cement used in building this house below with an electric mixing machine. Even if I don't build, I still go up to see things whenever I am free.

Its a project since 2012 and the cement used in the block setting and plastering were mixed and controlled by me.

0ver 150 units of 2$3 bedroom flat with underground parking for 85 cars

Incase you need my service at home grin. I operate an electrical mixing machine good, drive a bobcat (steel loading machine) perfect and i operate a crane good too.

Wow, 150 units shocked, that is a lot, Good skills you got there that will always be useful to you anywhere you go, my other problem with the system in Nigeria is that despite the different bodies in charge of regulating various professional organisations (Engineering inclusive), it seems enforcement & prosecution is our major problem because every tom, di..ck and harry is now parading themselves as professionals in various fields and thereby endangering the lives of people when things go wrong this is my opinion though, (l may be wrong).

I dont know how this will work, when even Govt officials are colluding with so called builders on fake building plans.
The same Govt dont help, they claim to support development but I feel they also hinder it in their bureaucratic ways, you cant get approval without consent + layout of the area, consent takes 3 years to do, and omonile will not do layout. They had rather use the money to kill bush meat and marry wives and parade masquerades.

Same material testing people, they come to your site give them something and then they will turn back, local govt too show up, settle them and they would not come again or chase them with Mopol. So you see the system is very broken. Ideally before any building goes up, it ought to be checked by a member of a trade/professional body and signed off, any sharp practices by such a person would mean they would be struck \ reprimanded and cannot practice/earn a living.

Even the enforcement self, if Govt official bring police as backup, me self get access to police as they are on my payroll.
God bless/help Nigeria.

Osaz

Since you wrote the article, any chance you can cost your solution for us, with the piles around 3/4 metres apart since 6m apart is too much.
Plot size is 60 x 120.
Soil is typical Lekki terrain.

No, 6m apart is the safe maximum centre to centre distance between two short bored piles, not that it is too much.
For a 60ft x120ft plot (36m x 18 m), you therefore need at least18 points.

Total perimeter= 108m along the perimeter fence line.

At 6m centres,
Average number of points = (108/6) = 18

With a single point of responsibility, average combined labour cost for metal work, boring, formwork, and concreting per pile = #10,000.

You can take up your cost analysis from here.

thats why i will go with baba mufu grin who grammar and certificate epp? EXPERIENCE AND DAILY PRACTICE is the key to hand work not only what u read or learn. physical practical is the main deal in construction.

there is one man called "jamajama" in an area i live then, you dont need a plan before he will give u what u want. just describe how u want it on the day of construction and this man will give u the best with his tape rule and IQ. he is a bloody illiterate.

That's what they make because I have friends and neighbors in the construction industry here.

No construction worker makes $80 bucks an hour. Well, maybe in New York city with their mob stuff and building skyscraper. Just maybe.
