Team16:It's possible but not advisable, don't you think it will tell later when applying for postgraduate work permit or study permit extension? How do you explain that you enter Canada without resuming for your studies a whole year but you are working? Am not in Canada oo and never seen anybody in that situation b4 but I believe am making sense. 3 Likes |

I am also applying for this Sept 2016. I would have liked if we can all share ideas on our various application documents. This will help us correct avoidable mistakes. I believe in aiming and shooting right. pls others should indicate Team16: 1 Like |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by iammartinzo(m): 3:02pm On May 13, 2016 |
Arcayo:It is possible. If you have ur TRV already and ur resumption date is still months away... sure. U can come in and chill while working but then, the work permit rules applies to u(20 hours) a week. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by EmmySaints: 3:08pm On May 13, 2016 |
@Team16, what stage are you now in your application? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Team16(m): 3:14pm On May 13, 2016 |
Arcayo: So is it advisable that he should not go at all because of fear of "what will happen when applying for postgraduate work permit". Bro, IMO, always forget what will happen later. Do what you think will make you succeed. When people talk about risks, how do you define risk? My guy is balling in Ontario now and has saved up enough money to start school this fall. Conquer your fear bro. Life is all about risks. @demmypeters1 follow your heart. Everything is possible if you can believe it. Just go for it. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Arcayo: 3:16pm On May 13, 2016 |
iammartinzo:But is it advisable to defer for a year immediately someone enter Canada and start working the 20hrs a week without attending school first? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Team16(m): 3:17pm On May 13, 2016 |
EmmySaints: Still battling with the sop's, sponsors letter, intro letter from company, study leave letter. I want to get every document with me before I start. Still haven't decided if to use online or paper. Which do you think will be fast for me. Going for PhD n to resume this fall. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by iammartinzo(m): 3:25pm On May 13, 2016 |
Arcayo:Well... I can't answer that question. If your TRV was approved months ahead of ur resumption date... That's a plus for you as u can come in early and get to know your environment and also work ahead before resumption but in a situation where u differed ur admission after entering canada... then be ready to face the music if you get caught by immigration 6 Likes |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Arcayo: 3:40pm On May 13, 2016 |
Team16:You are right, it's his decision if he want to enjoy the 20hr/week work for a year and later use the funds he make to pay tuition then come back to Nigeria to look job or try and take care of the situation now to be able to work towards permanent resident later. People defer semester/section but I don't believe it's advisable to do it immediately you enter Canada, these people keep records of everything unlike our dear country, you can defer after 1st year in school then blame it on whatever reasonable reasons that you think can save you but if demmypeters1 is not thinking of getting PR after studies good he can even work for a year and half b4 going to school. Taking risks is not by shooting yourself in the foot or jumping off the cliff cos you think you will land inside water. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Oga Team16, Na wa for you ooo. There is what is called 'risk tolerance' and I see clearly where you stand based on your comment on this issue. In my opinion and from my little experience, risk assessment is carried out to avoid future problems. So I'm a bit worried by your position. It's always important as you plan for the present to consider the effect/consequence of tomorrow. Some consequences do not mature until 20 years or more, while some can be early; either way there's always a reaction to our action's (positive or negative). What works for my friend might not work for me. I'm assuming that you just wanted to emphasise on staying positive and achieving what you can for now and allowing the future to take care of itself and not the other way round. Risks are not what we should joke with especially when we are planning. I mean no harm here please just a candid advice. All the best as you package your documents for application. Team16: 2 Likes |

Good day Everyone, I got a mail yesterday (3:32pm) for medical examination and went to The Consultant Practice in Ikoyi to do the needful this morning. I paid #28,050 only for the exercise. Doctor said it will take about 1 week to send the result to CIC. So I'm back to my "patiently waiting mode". This afternoon I received another mail from CIC stating that my application has been updated and when I checked online I found that the medical section now reads 'We need your medical information'. I guess that was just an update to my application status based on the mail received yesterday. I think paper application is fast for now, I met someone who applied (paper) April 19th and got medical mail May 3rd. Just my opinion anyway. I applied online on the 10th of March and 9 weeks later (yesterday) I got medical mail. 1 Like 1 Share |

GeneralSnipper: @Bro sniper, my bro my friend hope to meet you up @UNB. Back to the issue demmypeters1 didn't tell anyone the reasons why he wants to embark on such journey as a result he alone knows what he want to achieve with it. I only commented cos my friend did same last fall n will start School this fall. Another dimension to it as you mentioned is does he want to get a PR from Canada? If he doesn't then he can find his way around. My personal opinion o. @Demmypeters1 OYO is your case o. No tell VO say na me talk. |
