Sweety induction itself isnt really a bad thing. And it also depends on a couple of things:
A) how well your body receives d drug pitocin
B) how ready the baby is to come
C) doctors timing

In Dr F's case he suggests it bcz most moms will want him to attend d delivery and he cant b there for all moms bcz his practise has three or four doctors on rotation.

However having said that, in most cases an induction leads to CS depending on the 3 factors listed above.

U could do d following
A) wait for labour to start on its own
B) pray for speedy delivery
C) read up on induction

@chloe7 I hail o
Bolded statement is untrue. the following link is just one of many scientific studies done on inductions that debunks the myth of inductions increasing the rate of c sections. https://drjengunter./2014/05/04/rocking-delivery-dogma-induction-of-labor-doesnt-increase-c-section-rate/

Hello mamas,
As if Dr F likes inducing Reading mamas post on this is getting me scared. Being a FTM and reading d adverse effect of induced labour from d last mama that finally had CS, i dont think it a good idea.

Pls mamas who have gone through this could you share your experience? He's my doctor and i wanna be sure of anything he might be bringing to the table.

Thanks in advance.

I think its best u wait for the baby to come naturally. I know u might be tired of carrying the baby and experiencing sleepless nights. But you have to discuss with your doctor and if there is no medical reason for the induction. Pls wait for labor to start on its own. If it doesnt on its own then go for the induction.Anyway please ,biko remove that fear from your system. Childbirth is not as terrible as pple make it seem. Once u are there, ur mind would be focused on seeing ur lo that u see urself doing everything possible for the baby to come. U only marvel when u are out as to where the strength and insights came from. And that when u know that God is truly amazing. He is the one that gave u the baby and when its time, he will bring the baby out. Epidural or no epidural, induction , Dr f, Dr e,Dr a, and even Dr Steve are all additions as far as am concerned.Just go with God

Exactly! to each his own. She didn't compromise her baby's health. She worked together with her gynae. Baby alive and bouncing, momma alive shikena.
MetroTee:

I don't get this. Why not allow your body progress naturally? I believe one should only be induced if you are past your due date or if baby is too big or distressed. Forcing your body to do what it's not ready for is not worth it IMO. These days it appears induction is now for convenience purposes :/

I'm happy you had a pleasant experience tho. I was one week past my due date and doctor suggested induction. Fortunately, I went into labour naturally just before induction started and I'm very pleased I chose to wait that extra week. To each his own

Childbirth and receiving healthcare in the us is legal. So long as u pay.
Since you were upfront you shouldn't have any problem except u can't prove that u can pay all your bills. So go with as much cash (best option) as u can or other verifiable proof. Safe trip

You just got your visa yesterday and you want to write to the embassy!! Sometimes, we use our hands to cause problems for ourselves. Why didnt you declare that you wanted to have your baby at once instead of vacation. Its obvious you have lied about your intensions. Your visa may be cancelled if you write to them. I suggest you travel for vacation first before going for birthing if time is on your side. Gudluck!

Dear Zeejam,

First, go for your vacation as declared.

Use that period to source for hospitals/doctors. Take a tour round them, ask questions and decide who to settle for.

Return back to naija, wen you are due; you can go back. By then you are armed with all the documents you need.

Avoid misrepresentation of any kind.

Good luck with your decisions

When he (dr F) mentioned induction at 39 wks I declined and went into labor at 40 wks exactly

My second baby I begged for induction when 41 wks was staring at me in the face and my flight back was in 2 wks

My advice always wait till your due date at the very least
