A very big thank you to all the mamas wey torchlight my matter. Luckily for me we stay in different states @ the moment because of my job. But he stays in the same state as my parents so the last time I travelled I stayed @ my parents place since then he's been threatening to divorce me so that I can go and stay with my parents very well. It is well. This too shall pass.

D bolded will come to pass if u can apply d following:
1. Watch ur words. Words u speak to ur dh.

2. Respect him even wen it seems he doesn't deserve it.

3. Speak lyf 2 ur marriage always.

4. Take away d mentality of living dh as a solution because I bet u it's not. Someday one1 will tell u hw much stigma u carry.

5. Focus on urself n work on ur self. My hubby is in my palms 2day because I choose 2 walk on myself rada dan forcing him 2 change first.

6. Always tink abt giving ur baby a complete family to grow in dat child will b wat God has destined him/her 2 b.

7. Let ur gaze b on homes dat hav stayed 2geta n u will see strength coming 2 urs.

8. Choose ur friends correctly n put away some.

9. Pray 4 ur marriage often + listen to Godly msgs + go 2 church regularly n encourage him 2 do same. Wen he is around play gospel music n msgs only.

10. Learn to giv him space wen he needs one n allow him to express himself while talking.

11. Do d opposite of what he expects wen he wrongs u.

I'm nt an advocate of divorce, nt cut out 4 dat stigma at all. Dh hav slapped me once bt it was my fault (my words) up until nw we learn to b quite wen d oda partner is pressed.

I'm saying all dis 2 u nw dat u hav nt moved out to still b patient n try oda measures. God will see u through ur marriage n u will council someone 2maro. Just hold in there a little more.

Am a first time mum. just wondering if every first time mum gets a cut or tear during labour. Am concerned, how is intimacy after delivery? will I still get the satisfaction? so many things de boarder me o. sabi mamas Abeg make una help.

I just had a discussion with a friend who gave birth recently. She said she attended a birth class in the UK and as a first time mum, labor and delivery was super easy. See the points and tips she shared with me and right now i can confidently say i'm no longer scared of labor:

- Download contraction timer app on your phone and dh's phone. That way you can tell when the next contraction is coming and brace yourself for it calmly.

- Make a research on relaxation exercises and start practicing them so you will be relaxed in labor

- Practice breathing through your nose and out through your mouth. Take deep breaths. It'll help you relax and manage pain

- In early labor, try standing on your feet most of the time. The gravity will help speed up the process and you wont have to be in labour for long.

- Also rotate your hips when standing, it can help you dilate faster

- Make a research on various delivery positions and find the one that is less painful for you. For her, the regular lying on your back was extremely painful so she switched to kneeling on all fours and that's how she delivered easily.

- In her birthing class, she was told that when you lie on your back you squash your pelvis and your pelvis is what needs to expand during the birth. So it gets bigger during each contraction, but lying in bed works against what your body is doing, so it hurts really bad.

- She used a hot water bottle on her back and because of that she didnt need any epidural or pain medications.

I hope this info helps other mamas like me who are scared of the labor and delivery process.

No offence @ginababy, but the stigma of divorce or seperation and someone's life, which should take priority?
I'm not an advocate for divorce at the slightest issue, and i think it should be a last resort but trying to avoid the stigma of divorce is what led to the loss of my two elder brothers. Today they are no more and my mum regrets listening to those who made her scared of leaving when she should have. Everyone and their own ideology sha but ive learnt a lot to know life should always come first.

*Stigma* what was killed my cousin 2003.
What would people say and all that.

One's life is more important than stigma or what the society thinks about you. Choose wisely!

I never said she shouldn't try God dear. That is not the point i countered. No marriage can survive without God. What i'm on about is, in this era of news of women being beaten to death by their husbands, i can never support putting my life or the life of my baby at risk all in the name of marriage. Neither will i encourage my fellow woman to stay in a violent marriage because one yeye stigma. Its entirely left for them to decide.
Life is precious and nothing(no matter how sharp the woman's mouth is) gives a man the right to raise his hands on his wife he was given by God to protect and care for. And women shouldn't be made to feel they are always at fault for a man's violence.
When my mum finally left my dad, she didn't relent in prayers or her service to God. My dad even married another woman and yes people talked and yabbed my mum. But after a year, he regained his senses and today they are back together and the beating has stopped totally. Every mallam and e kettle sha because i understand we all grew up and learnt differently

@ginababy, I pray your hubby remains the way he is but please never advice someone to stay married to a violent man bacause on stigmatization. no one cares about you even the society that will stigmatize you dont care. My sister almost went blind last year due to DV and that was when her brain went to factory setting now she is doing fine and horseband is now begging her to come back but that was after he received 2 thunderous slap from my father because he insulted my mom. Divorce is something I dont wish for my enemy but i will choose it over and over again to staying with a violent man.

@Nwapastor, please seek professional help from a certified counselor and not religious authority. it is well with your household.

@omowunmigan Allah is Arrazaq he will provide for you what you need, want and wish for in multi fold.

congratulations to all May mamas wey don born. may they be a source of joy and pride.

Stigma of being divorced? I read on front page yesterday how a man beat his wife to death because of a stewwwpid girlfriend. If he loves her so much he should have divorced his wife and gone with his evil babe. Who will now breastfeed the baby she was nursing? Those that really believe in "for better for worst till death do us part" should actually have it in mind that that death may be MURDER.
I CAN'T STAY MARRIED TO A MAN THAT MAY BEAT ME TO DEATH and MARRY ANOTHER WOMAN TO TRAIN MY CHILDREN.

Please mamas, doctors and nurses help me answer this: I was asked to do a scan a week after my miscarriage which I did on Wed but could not see a doctor because of strike. I went to a private hospital & was told that the miscarriage was complete but my IUCD is still in place in the uterus & was referred back to the teaching hospital for removal. Now the bleeding which stopped on Tuesday has started yesterday what should I do. Thanks
