their promises will end Thesame way they've been promising, what happened to the 5k they promised the youth? The food they promised every school children? The promise to reduce the price from 87 to N40? All was failed promise, let them do something to the high price of food stuffs, how will the common man survive an everyday meal? Just under this administration all this bullshiiiit, reduce the fuel price to 90naira, find a means to bring food to every man's table, with these policies and hardship the country is not safe because more crimes will be committed due to frustration, do they really think at all before making decisions. You are building a more tough situation to the country. Let the labour start their protest, how will people survive the cost of fares to and fro working? More tears will roll, Buhari you are killing nigerians with your whatever.

I thought the established exchange price for dollars is 199,so which one be 285?,una don reset am or do CBN not existing?
199 is CBN rate. CBN has said it does not have enough Forex to provide for importers, so they have to go source for Forex at secondary market at that 285

The many lies of this government.
Another big lie.
One lie after another.

First, the government says it is trying to make the it more attractive for private sector to provide petrol. Fine.

How did they arrive at the nebulous rate of N285 to the Naira as opposed to the black market rate of N320 ?

Secondly, if by their nebulous calculations, the landing cost of petrol is N143, then where is the incentive for private sector investment ?
Where is the profit?

Now that the black market exchange rate is N370, what happens to the pump price of N145 ?

Considering the free fall in price of crude oil, one would expect fall in price of PMS.
Recalling the arithmetical analysis carried out in 2012 when GEJ administration hiked the price of PMS, it is expected that people like Nasir El Rufai, Lai Mohammed, Dino Malaye, etc should advise PMB to reverse the price to N45 per litre knowing that he isn't good in mathematics.

I have a dream that one day all filling stations in Nigeria will be rushing to media houses with Nairaland inclusive to place advert on their products thereby sourcing for customers who will patronise them on their ongoing promos which is " buy five liters of PMS and get one liter free"... And I strongly believe that the dream will come to pass..

what do u mean by that is CBN the one that set the price ☀̤̣̈̇f dollars for secondary market? And by the way is 285 the price that dollars is been sold at the secondary market?

How can the price of an essential commodity under the control of the federal government be determined by black market.

Abeg we should just privitize our oil sector

The industry is a sham

I have a feeling buhari would soon devalue the naira to 285

Let's all watch and see

This government maintains that exchange rate is at official rate but yet go ahead to make calculations of pms after removal of subsidy with an almost black market exchange rate but will go ahead and calculate the savings from the "subsidy" with the official rate or better still keep mute or carefully avoid that part.

Nigerians, your fate has been decided and you guys made that decision yourselves. Have fun as your enjoy your fraudulent change.

Next is devaluation of Naira which has been indirectly communicated by Kashiku in this explanation.

Today, i want to take time and thank GOD for making Buhari the president of this country.

At first, I did not understand why GOD allowed it to happen. But now I know and I HAVE SEEN THE BENEFIT.

This is how I understand the benefit.

Had it been Buhari did not become president:

1. We will think that by now fuel will be #45 per litre.

2. We will think that by now #1 will be equal to $1.

3. We will think that by now three million jobs would have been created.

4. We will think that by now unemployed youths would have been receiving #5,000.00 stipends.

5. We will think that by now pupils would have been getting at least a meal(including fruits) in school.

6. We will think that by now Buhari would have made his assets and liabilities public.

7. We will think that by now 720,000 jobs by the 36 states in the federation yearly (20,000 per state) would have been created.

8. We will think that by now there would be permanent peace in the Niger Delta and other conflict prone areas such as Plateau, Taraba, Bauchi, Borno and Abia.

9. We will think that by now the government would have started creating additional middle-class of at least two million new home owners in the first year in government and one million annually thereafter.

10. We will think that by now maternal and children healthcare services would be free.

The list is almost endless...

So since they calculated with 280, does that mean fuel price will increase when black market rates also increase?
