Maybe I'm wrong but I believe NNPC still imports PMS which forex rate are they using. If it's the official rate which I think they'll use, how much then would they sell? Refineries in Nigeria still produce PMS how much would it sell. The pricing templet is for importation. 2 Likes |

Buhari could have instructed Efcc to arrest the so-called marketers that got fuel at a govt subsidized rate and sold same in the last 3 months @N200/litre. Thank God for what am seeing APC do today for tomorrow knows how to do things for itself. |

not4sure: Believe this govt and believe any thing. Its all BUKUM President says no subsidy removal VP says its adjustment in forex to enable IPMAN import Kachuku, the 145 Naira is the peak to which all must nor exceed, and NNPC would sell far less. But as i speak its only NNPC that is selling at the 145 none of the independents are selling below 145 rathe its well over 160, 170 and so on lai ? The more you look the less you see. 2 Likes |

why cant d gvt motivate ppl to build refineries first before removing subsidy?Must we remove subsidy before investment will take place in d petroleum industry?A concerted effort by d gvt to build refineries in a yr wt maximum capacity will solve d whole problem of scarcity and problems in d industry. And i bet it that in six mnths time d price of fuel will nt go down bc nigeria is a large mrkt with high demand, rather d cartel will cause scarcity to maintain d high price.Dis gvt needs to be sensitive by understanding that harsh decisions r not taken to remove harsh policies bc the masses will be the one to suffer. |

This was a study made by Dr. Goodluck Jonathan's Government far back 2012, which pegged the price at 141NGN. From the look of things, the APC led Federal Government saw GEJ's policies as fantastically good for implementation and refused to join him in making the country better only to get power via deception just to Kick start po policies formulated by the immediate past Government. You remember TSA(Single Treasury Accounts)? It is now clear that this APC led Government had no plans and programs for implementation but succeeded in turning peoples heart to favour their political will and turn back to punish the same people that gave them power. Nigerians should wake up and resist those deceptive agents or pay with their blood for voting into power, an insensitive, careless and reckless bunch of ineptitude. |

So, you now have what we call a double warning. NNPC is suddenly finding its importing what they probably didn’t expect in terms of volume and the fact that Nigerians themselves are consuming more volume that they will normally consume in earlier months. He also re-iterated on the fact that neighboring countries are selling fuel at more that $1 per liter. Of which $1 in Nigeria today is about N360. "Couple with the fact that the countries that are surrounding us as a nation are all selling fuel at more than $1 per liter. $1 today is about N360. If you go to Cotonou, Ghana, Niger so is is not unlikely that some of our petrol is finding itself across the body to these countries".
