A little thought exercise;

The announcement of deregulation abi price increase favored oil and gas stocks.

Who will the impending devaluation favor?

So far I can only think of -

1, Companies that manufacture for export i.e., earn in USD
e.g. --- ?

2, Some banks I suspect e.g. GT who redeemed their Eurobond early

I hope they are still making the money or rather paper profit

Well TRUTH is one thing you can't suppress.

Has anybody here complained of not getting their profits paid to their bank accounts?

I know your pessimism is political due to regime change.

ALL THE GURUS IN THE HOUSE, PLS HELP!!!

I have over 1 million units of UCAP shares before company closure date but to my surprise I got an alert of 81k instead of over 300k I was expecting since they declared dividend of 35kobo per share. I know taxes will be deducted but I do not understand reason for this low dividend, pls can anyone tell me what u think could be wrong or am I wrong in my calculations?? is not interim dividend now?? AP registrars are not responding to me too . Thanks as u share your thoughts

You bought a tranche, subscribed to e-dividend and then bought more in tranches. You didn't write the registrar to apply the e-dividend mandate to units purchased afterwards. Sadly, you are expected to do that. Once additional units are purchased, you are expected to notify the registrar to apply the existing mandate.

If all the units bought were bought before closure date and into the same CSCS acct which has the Edividend mandate, I expect that the full dividend be paid. I maybe wrong though.

Thanks for your explanation. Am hearing this for the first time
My CSCS account has been updated long time ago with these new units of shares
Does it mean each time I buy additional shares I need to update registrars? because all my banks shares dividend were paid correctly without me writing registrars moreover I normally buy shares through one reputable stock broker
Finally, can I still claim my unpaid dividend back now
Thanks once again

if you truly bought before closure date your money might be posted since it didn't arrive via e dividend but better still contact APR registrars

BREAKING: Nigeria's headline inflation rises to 13.7 in April, latest @nigerianstat report shows @channelstv

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-05-16/nigeria-inflation-quickens-to-highest-pace-in-almost-six-years

Nigerian inflation accelerated for a sixth consecutive month in April and at the highest pace since August 2010, after an increase in gasoline and electricity prices in Africa’s largest economy.

The inflation rate rose to 13.7 percent from 12.8 percent the month before, the Abuja-based National Bureau of Statistics said in an e-mailed statement, the same median estimate of 14 economists surveyed by Bloomberg. Prices rose 1.6 percent in the month.

Rising fuel and electricity prices “were the largest contributors,” the statistics agency said on Monday. “These items as well as other imported items continued to have ripple effects across many divisions.” Food inflation rose to an annualized 13.2 percent from 12.7 percent in March.

All banks and oil and gas sector will surely do well (re-price) in medium to long term as long as crude oil price is rising and the issue of deregulation of downstream sector of oil and gas is stabilize grin

UBA going on another Africa expansion spree. Given antecedents , this is not a good sign for near to medium term financial performance. Customers brought into your fold will trump territorial expansion any day. UBA is pursuing excitement or traction.
