This government should be thinking of ways of adding value to the citizenry. How can people just sit at home and earn 5000 naira. This meagre sum will even be very inconsequential with the current value of the naira. What criteria would be used to select this poor ones in the society? How does N166.7 a day serve as a paliative measure against the astronomical rise in price of goods and services. I believe this said amount can be used to stimulate a particular section of the economy which eventually will go ahead to create more than 1million jobs. It could even b channeled towards skill acquisition programmes u just make a man dependent the more by going him fish instead of teaching him how to fish. A cue can be taken from the Easterners that pick someone from the village and train him in a skill or trade, provide him start up capital and make him an employer of labour also. Alas it isn't yet Uhuru for Nigeria 2 Likes 1 Share |

Politheivechians "robbing" Peter to pay Paul. They must think we are dumb. Not one person jailed since the inception of this w-ack administration despite their "anti kwarapshan" crusade of falsehood. We have the same set of judges still sitting fat in the Judiciary yet they expect to fight corruption. No direction. Clueless govt. All our monies are in the hands of criminally minded looters who we all know yet they put the country thru undeserved hardship to dubiously generate revenue. Why does Buhari think we voted him in? To fly around the world and just receive salary for doing nothing to bring about the sham "change" he promised? Let them keep acting dumb. We will boot them out come 2019. Change of horror! 1 Like 2 Shares |

Oh God, this is not good. Another avenue to loot the nations money by buhari and co. Watch how they'll select their family and friend. Why not use the trillions of naira you want to squander to create jobs and develop this country! People...we are on a long thing on the hands of this man!! The rich gets richer, the poor get screwed. 1 Like 1 Share |

MakeWeTalk: But seriously who are we fooling? Apart from the loans to artisans and traders, the other palliatives are all wack! Instead of creating employers of labour, we are thinking of increasing our recurrent expenditure in the name of employing graduates. When states are already struggling to pay salaries. Is it not madness Why not give these graduates grants to start up SMEs like the Youwin programme did or is the government too ashamed to replicate a good programme because it came from the past administration? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Nigerian population is more than 170 million, of which more than 65% (110.5 million) are the poor! And Buhari is planning to help 8 million citizens and leave who? How could anyone do this? Does Buhari have a mental sickness? This will be the largest bribe ever given publicly! This insane ab*oki has failed in governance, so to ensure his re-election, he thinks bribery is his solution! Instead of wasting money on this useless project, refurbishing our dilapidated General hospitals in every city to world standard would be better and make healthcare free tor all! Buhari is a dimwit and very incompetent! |

Most of the programs are welcome, it goes a lot in reflating the economy as a whole . . . pushes our GDP and general productivity and e.t.c. upwards. Some others, I can't personally see how reaching or reasonable it is, i.e. the feeding and N5,000 to most vulnerable . . . OTOH, if it can be properly 'implemented' (which I'm not so optimistic about), it is still far better . . . I mean these are the kind of monies some 'good-for-nothing' thieves would sit down in their offices/homes in Abuja and 'corner', buying expensive houses, cars, and jewelries to oppress the same true owners of the funds. OTOH, if power supply won't improve immensely, or importation of refined petroleum products won't reduce dramatically by year end, all these palliatives would have been better channeled into making that happen!! I've read some really intelligent comments on here about the subject-matter and some brainless ones too. My admonition to those who have nothing better than criticism is, get off of your butt and shallow reasoning and figure how you can benefit from any of the present programmes, either directly or indirectly -- that should be your sole purpose of hanging out around NL, not chanting "burukutu sipping", chest beating, or being an irredeemable bigot -- that won't fuel your progress! |

Wealthgang:mean while lagos - ibadan express remain what it is, a viable road in which the construction will not only create jobs but it completion will further reduce rural urban migration futher more the death toll recorded will be drastically reduced. many more important road networks and capital investments across the nation will give an average family with graduates the power to shoulder the responsibilities of their siblings and even take care of their old parents if they are gainfully employed. i pray God guide our leaders right and help the youth the truth to know |

mfujah: hello mr, what is bribe? Is it not an act of persuading someone to act in your favour by giving them money or other inducement? If it is not bribery what is it? (Make your dictionary your friend if you have one). AS REGARDS YOUR OTHER POST, NO, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A SITUATION WHERE THE GOVERNMENT GIVES MONEY To the masses JUST TO MAKE THEM ACCEPT HIS BID(irrespective of its negative effect on the masses) And not because he really cares about their welfare. This is the first time I have or am about to witness such action. Oh yes, I have been to many countries where I witnessed first hand, the government giving incentives to its citizens for individual development and development of the country. A pity. 1 Like 2 Shares |

sholatem: to help people in this current hardship you say? The hardship he caused you mean? Besides, what can 5000 naira a month do for anyone already facing the hardship when the price of everything has sky rocketed. Who will 5000 naira a month sustain when the price of our common garri sef don rise. It's just to shut the masses up jor, no more no less. Lol the politicians will still put some of the money in their Ghana must go and Nigeria must stay bag as far as they are the ones in charge of distribution of the money(bribe) abi no be naija again? 1 Like 2 Shares |

For all those in support of this nonsense, have you asked yourself how the poorest 1 million will be decided in a country with little or no records? Wouldn't it have been better to establish free health care instead? |

Obasanjo attempted it (NAPEP) but it failed because corruption was reigning supreme and now a new sheriff is in town. Timolanki: Hahahahahaha! It's sad that the core zombies have not yet understood this man called Dullhari and APC. These same promises were made and denied only for them to reintroduce it now that they have almost doubled fuel price. This is nothing but a cheap attempt to make Nigerians (especially their zombies) to swallow the fuel price hike and in a few months from now, they will give reasons why the can't meet up with this their claims again. By then Nigerians would have been so used to the fuel price that they wouldn't even want to think of protesting or complaining.. |

A govt finding it difficult to pay corps members and further delaying their posting, is here again to make claims of of something the promised during campaigns and denied outrightly after winning election, only to resurface and continue with the useless promises again but you have swallowed it again.
