Banks are still selling 197 per dollar before charges as at today o... At least i got confirmation from 2 banks today...

In other PTA news, someone told me her PTA was approved today in one of these banks in the amount of.... Wait for it... 500dollars!

Mbok, the devil is a liar

Pls don't faint o, lol. These cases vary. I know someone that was given a refund of over $1000 from Northside cos she had a very smooth labour and delivery and did not spend more than a day before being discharged so just tell God how you want it, have faith and it shall be yours. For all those going thru different challenges, God is in control. Trust in Him cos He never fails.

Haaaa! I never thought of that angle ooo. I cant judge anyone who does such sha cos marriages are different.

Back to the matter, ye she had complications and baby was in NICU for like 4days. That bill is after 75% discount.

So my SIL had my neice there 4yrs ago and paid 18k after haggling up and down like person dey price meat (i dont know the details of complications or not cos my inlaws are very coded).

My ex roommate had a scheduled CS cos baby was big and ended up with 20+ too so am wondering where that cane from since she really didnt have any extraordinary complications. However let me state that she isnt a very cost concious person as bobo la rich.

I personally cannot risk it die to my history. I even went as far as to search the bills people paid on this thread. Saw only one person that mentioned about 6k or so.

@Passionatchick(am sure the spelling is wrong, sorry) and other atl mamas: i have another friend that should deliver in like 3weeks by scheduled Cs.will let you know how much her bill comes to.

However, Gwinnet and Grady are cheaper Atl options.

No offense but you do know pple use this to extort money from their husbands. I did get a lil above the normal 3550. Don't know if it was because I used the nursery cos they dont tell you where the increase came from but I didn't reach 4000. Did your friend ve "serious" complications, coz that's the only justification for the kind of bill.

I say thank you to Nef, Nnystc and all others that have encouraged Blaize777. I ve been offline all day so by the time I got here, everything had been said.

@ Blaize777: God will lay his healing hands on your baby. You shall not have cause to sorrow in Jesus name.

@ Everyone who contributed in my days of indecision, I say thank you. The Jury is in and its El Paso. Bestie and Hubby tear me warning on saturday to better pick hospital that will accept Form A and lets move on. According to hubby, we cannot be using torchlight to find cheap dollars. Na so i begin email doctoresparati for invoice. They are so responsive!

Long story short, Form A was approved and account was debited today @ 199.5. We paid for both hospital and obgyn and even though there is an additional charge if 250 dollars for prepaying hospital bills.

@Biollar Onidollar Atawewe of God,

I used your hospital reference letter today. The doctor couldnt stop laughing at your stunts. God bless you.

About Grady being cheaper, you're right. But I hear the hospital is... Errm.... not so cool. Lol. But I thought I got info from here that Gwinett bills are now way up. My family friend here that works in Grady believes Gwinett is cheaper than Northside.

I'm due in about 4weeks + too, but no wahala, God is on my side smiley

Ok moms i have a question that requires your practical experiences. I'm trying to buy a stroller for d babies comfort on errands and our return trip to naija.

With my first, I had a baby carrier and always had baby on my chest. Was kinda inconviniencing bt it worked. Now the problem is, most stollers are actually built for larger kids not newborns and i dunno if the airlines would let me push d stroller into the plane (if not d aim of buying it may be defeated). Plus i cnt seem to find an onbudget infant (newborn) stoller that folds without me having to detach the seat.

My best options for the stoller are the bassinet styled seats but they hav to b detached before the stroller can b folded whch mins i would b taking up space with the two items and i dunno if the airline would let me tak it onto d plane. And ofcos im not sure i wana spend $200 for smthing if i wouldnt b able to use it in-transit.

Please moms, how did you transport your newborns and what were your experiences. Please note im talking about STROLLERS and not car seat. unless u used ur car seat. Whch would mean heavy muscle pull and im tryn to be as comfortably packaged as possible

Ps:baby never come o...jst planning my shopping.
And am flying Air France. Pls lets compare thoughts.

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by telias: 6:44am On May 19, 2016
A little clarification to all about Stanbic IBTC PTA. They have a BDC subsidiary so it's not like it's the Bank issuing like other Banks. In effect, they don't always get funds from CBN hence the reason why they have been issuing more than other Banks. This also accounts for reasons why rates differ, 197 today, 257 tomorrow.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by Nnystc: 6:55am On May 19, 2016
OK. My last experience.
I bought a graco stroller+car seat (newborn to 1.5yrs or so) $200. Was very useful. Delta allowed me check in the car seat base at the counter and I pushed the carseat+stroller through the airport up to the plane door mouth took out baby into the plane and they packed them up from first departure point plane door. When I got to transit point I saw it waiting for me at the plane door again as I exited the plane. Dropped it again at plane mouth on final leg to Naija.
just make sure you get it tagged at ticket counter or departure gate counter.
Most airlines, if not all, allow carseat and stroller as additional items to baby's luggage. Even including adding diaper bag to baby's hand luggage.
But you will not be allowed to carry carseat into plane unless you bought a seat for baby. They pick from plane door and put in the hold.
Just discuss with the airline. Call their toll free lines from over there.
All newborn stroller-carseat combos have to be separated before folding the stroller. Good luck!

Lawyer123:
Hello house,Pls my friend needs your help. This is her story below:

Hello everyone, I had my interview yesterday now I was rejected. This would be my 3rd interview so far in 2016.
The first time in Jan 2016,I had just got recently married and wanted to go for my honeymoon but was rejected. (Pls note my husband has a valid visa)
The 2nd interview in Feb 2016, i still maintained that I was going for a vacation with my husband and I told them our budget, how much I earned and my husband's income. However I was denied again.

I am currently 22weeks pregnant and i got that information after the second interview.I applied again (my husby paid the full hospital fee and Doctor fee which was 6850USD), I had my doctor correspondence along with confirmation of reciept of payment), budget sheet, statement of account, medical report.

The transcript thus;

Me: Good morning Sir
VO; good morning , your passport please ( handed over my passport)
VO; why are you going to the US?
Me; I am going to deliver my baby (I started giving him my medical history), the fact that I currently have a history diabetes in pregnancy , I lost 2 of my elder sister - 1 died during childbirth and the other was a preterm, hence my husband being a doctor and knowing that the prenatal mortality rate in Nigeria is poor, we decided it's best to go to the US in order to have access to Better healthcare facility for me and our baby. ( while I was saying this he was already going through my doctor correspondent, receipt and my budget sheet in which I followed phema budget but made changes to suite my needs)
VO; so I can see that you were denied visa twice , what has changed?
Me: we just got married in Jan and we wanted to go for our honey moon in Hawaii in which was denied due to insufficient fund, however now I am pregnant and my medical condition of being diabetic is the reason why I am here for this interview.
Vo; sorry madam I am afraid I will have to disqualify you again bla bla bla
Me; please what is the reason ?
VO; sorry madam I will advice you give birth in uk or India
Me; excuse me sir , I deserve to know the reason as we have already paid the full medical fee
VO: sorry madam the hospital will refund you your money , I advice you deliver in the uk or India

Please what are my options now and where do you think I went wrong?(I'm thinking of reapplying or seeking a petition)

PLEASE HELP VERY URGENT

I think after question "what has changed?" You have to show that you gain higher position in your work and earn more money, so thats why you have enough funds even for childbirth in US. It's just my thoughts

shrekandfiona:

How do you want us to help you na? VO don talk say make you try UK or India after 3 denials within 4 months. Shouldn't that be a sign to you that you should forget the US trip for now at least for this baby?

Okay make I give my own advice...try Brazil, Russia or Mexico them near USA

Pls give a break and reapply after like a year when there's a significant change in your situation

They will give citizenship in Brazil, but no in Russia

@all, I dnt really knw ow dh went abt it. Some1 in his office called called som1 n the PTA form was sent to his mail box n he gave som1 to go submit it. But he collected the PTA at the head office yesterday. P.S the company banks wit first bank so I'm guessing that's y.

@Chloe, abi now. After travelling to ijebu ode without eating in the rain just cos I didn't want dh to knw that I left the house. It was indeed a stressful day n I nearly cried when I didn't get a +ve feedbak.
