As at yesterday the Bank did not have FX for PTA. A staff travelling today went to meet the head of every unit 'meetable' and did not get PTA. And yes, Treasury has to approve, they approve based on availability.

A little clarification to all about Stanbic IBTC PTA. They have a BDC subsidiary so it's not like it's the Bank issuing like other Banks. In effect, they don't always get funds from CBN hence the reason why they have been issuing more than other Banks. This also accounts for reasons why rates differ, 197 today, 257 tomorrow.

I dont mind this BDC... How can i access them?

Pls i need ur help.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by happytbaby: 9:24am On May 19, 2016
Hello,

I am sorry babe, giving the information will not help. The Bank simply does not have FX, we were even told that they cannot bid from CBN for medicals, they can only use in-house funds, which as at yesterday was really scarce.

The Form A was done for us because hubby had informed the people approving since February that we were coming, they just could not say no. It was a big favour. Both hubby and I worked there before so you can imagine that I even took my hospital letter to the home of the Account Officer that processed the transaction, asked her to cook for me and waited to eat. I hope you understand my long story.....it was 'leg'

NaijaMama:

Please what bank did you use for your form A?

Hi mama! Pls which bank processed your form A? Cos stanbic refused doctores letter o claiming they are not a hospital. So iv been looking since.

Pls epp me

oh just saw ur reply above cry

happytbaby:
I say thank you to Nef, Nnystc and all others that have encouraged Blaize777. I ve been offline all day so by the time I got here, everything had been said.

@ Everyone who contributed in my days of indecision, I say thank you. The Jury is in and its El Paso. Bestie and Hubby tear me warning on saturday to better pick hospital that will accept Form A and lets move on. According to hubby, we cannot be using torchlight to find cheap dollars. Na so i begin email doctoresparati for invoice. They are so responsive!

Long story short, Form A was approved and account was debited today @ 199.5. We paid for both hospital and obgyn and even though there is an additional charge if 250 dollars for prepaying hospital bills.

@Biollar Onidollar Atawewe of God,

I used your hospital reference letter today. The doctor couldnt stop laughing at your stunts. God bless you.

Hello Good People,

Kindly advise and assist with the following:-

(1) two years ago, wifey n I had our first child in Wisconsin got visa and entry was smooth no issue. 2 years down d line, we applied via dropbox and visa granted . After this, the following doubts arose hence why I need you guys help:-

(1) During the first interview we told them we were going to deliver hence no issue but in filling the DS160 form, we picked b1/b2 and since there is no where to indicate that we are going to have our child, thinking is it s must to write a letter of intent to the embassy to inform them about this? Or there is no need? Going to Houston for the first Time and I heard the POE can be funny sometimes especially if your intent isn't clear, pls advise

(2) Has anybody been in this situation before, if yes, what do u advise?
[3] Can anybody assist with sample copy of similar email sent to the embassy in respect of this?
(4) Also, we are using Oakbend hospital for Richmond, can anybody give referrals of concierge services or flats or apartment we can rent or use? What has been your experience with Doctor Ziworitin and his team?

(5) Is it also a must to write or inform the embassy if your destination is changing? In our form we cchoose Wisconsin but host has relocated hence the change to Texas, is this a challenge as well?

Please I will appreciate Ffirst hand information regarding my questions.

Thanks and God bless.

I beg my people is there an ATM that doesnt charge fee before withdrawal in the US?
Not the normal local N240 or N420 charges but the $3-$5 per withdrawal for the American bank.

In my own case,I had a baby in Ohio in 2012, embassy was aware too at interview,1st renewal (interview)after birth was easy no receipts was asked.2nd renewal(dropbox) no issues as well.
1)It's not a must to write intent,I did but didn't print out the response sef.
Fast forward 2016.
POE:flew with BA,JFK supposed to be my POE but was changed to North Carolina because of flight delay.was sent to secondary inspection and all the CBP wants to see is the receipts for the birth in 2012.I had everything with me.kindly go read POE in part 3 of this thread.
2)Have all the necessary documents with you:Dr correspondence, hospital details, budget sheet,lots/proof of cash to show you can afford the service.
3)A copy is also on this thread as well.read from Part 1.
4)I didn't use Oakbend,I gave birth to my twins in California but a lot of mamas have and they have shared all the necessary information here too.Read again
5)It's not a challenge but be ready to answer all questions honestly and with confidence.
Furthermore,do yourself a favour, get a jotter and pen and read from Part 1.
Good luck

This pta matter is just turning heads I can't imagine buying black market abeg, for mama's travelling soon I pray you all get pta at least to sort part of your bills

Hello wonderful Nlanders
I am seeking out anyone who has given birth in colombus Ohio.I have searched the thread for mount camel hospital and only one mention was made by beepearl03 in pt2. help with info about surprise bills, Dr etc.Nagode in advance. Also what's the best way to get to Ohio without passing through Houston and Chicagooooooo!

Information about birthing in Ohio here is basically next to zero.
I gave birth at Riverside Hospital in Columbus Ohio in 2012.after a 40% discount.hospital bill for mother and baby amount to almost $12000.Obgyn:$3500 including all tests.Epidural $1800 but 35% discount was given.
Note: this was a normal delivery no complications,no NICU,2 day stay.
In Ohio, most hospitals are under 1 umbrella called Ohiohealth.so do your research very well before you make a final decision.

Good afternoon ma. Congrats on your pregnancy.
Maa this your question is frowned upon here as it is considred spoonfeeding . The essence of this thread is to assist research. You can't go all the way to america and not be prepared.
I can give you pointers sha. On top or below this thread is an el paso hospital advert. Their website is detailed on how to reach them. You can also use google or the search button on nairaland and search for el paso. U have a lot of material to go thru. Afterwards u can ask for CLARIFIATIONS on stuff u didn't understand. U will see options of accomodation on the website and even on this page, means of payment has been discussed.
