MONEY MANAGEMENT CALCULATOR ( for new Traders and Old as well).

Below is a simple Calculator you can always use before you take a trade so as to know what percentage you are risking for the Trade. i attached it and also took a snap shot. If you have Microsoft office you can open it but if you dont then you can view directly.

Nice try but not correct. You omitted the pip value in your calculator.

I think you should read this b i t. l y /1VaBfyS (remove the spaces)

Thanks bro the pip value is on the 8th row(horizontal) if you take a second look.
So in my example , in Column 1 every pip you make will be equal to 0.5 (if 20 pips is made ,it will be 20pips x 0.5 which will give you $10)

Cheers!

If we push a lower low in audusd, I will buy O.7188 with sl 25pips, o.7154, and tp 0.7288.
25pts to make 100, I ll bring to BE if price moves 35pts from entry.

Trying these with small lots cos day trading is not my usual, I m better at swings. But learnt somethn from shevyn optimised it and trying it out. grin grin grin

You did not open that link. Your answer is there.

What's the pip value (cost) for eurjpy on a standard account?

Hello bro , i dont think i need an answer nor did i ask any question. i only created a simple calculator. The calculator can calculate any pip value of
any market trade whether Standard or mini size account. just plug in your values and you will be able to calculate you pip value.

Another simple example is this:-

Position size = ( Account Size x Risk Amount (%) / (Entry price - Stop Loss )

if Account size = £2000
Risk limit = 3%
Account Risk = £60 (3% of £2000)
Stop Loss = 50pips ( 1.2550 - 1.2500 for a LONG trade)
Position Size = £60/50 = £1.2 per point

Which means every pip made will be equal to £1.2 .

50pips = £1.2 x 50 = £60

I rest here

Your calculation is somehow long, why not just use the below formula instead;

Lot Size: Amount to Risk/Pip Value of Currency pair per 1 Lot/ Number of Pips

If on ECad, pip Value is $7.7 and I'm to risk 5% of $1000 account on 40 pips, lot size to use will be gotten thus;

5% of $1000 is $50

Therefore,
Amount to risk then is $50
Pip Value of ECad is $7.7
Number of Pips is 40 pips

Lot Size= $50/$7.7/40
= 0.1623
= 0.16 approx. to 2 decimal places

The best formula for me is,

Amount to risk/Pip Value of Currency Pair per 1 Lot/Number of Pips

Your calculation may be applicable to major currency pairs like EU and GU. Pip Values for Crosses vary. On Standard account, 1 lot of EU, GU and some major pairs can be $10 per pip, but it will not be up to $10 per pip on Crosses

You are very correct. The calculation was long because it was training slide. Attached is from the slide.

@teejaysmarty, note the bolded. Thats whats missing in your calculator. And for the records, your doc is not a calculator. It's a guide

You are fantastically correct.
Most traders assume $10/pip for all currencies.

How long really depends on when trade hits tp/sl, which varies especially for swings. Just a few days for day trades.
Doesn't take long to run a 25pts sl or 100pts tp.
For how; I trade supply and demand on all timeframes

We already pushed up 30pts from entry, I won't take a lower low. Reducing risk from 25pts to 13pts.

It's tiring having to watch these small price moves.
