Where are the imo people shouting the praises of this evil and wicked man called rochas? Come and see the doom he has caused imo state. Well i assure you rochas that the blood of the poor civil servants, the retired pensioners and every other person out there you have denied his wages and entitlement..all because of your selfish and stupidity to the people- will be on your head. When he cant manage IMSU and IMO POLY..yet he has floated his own university where he will divert government money to.It is obvious that our leaders now invest more in their private institutions yet the allow the government owned under their care to die...Nigeria is a failed country. As long as the Lord Lives,Rochas and the rest will pay the price for their inhuman treatment to people.--The wages he has refused to pay, must cry out against him. Ka chineke mezie okwu 3 Likes |

Why should they destroy a private Building? So the Villagers think Owerri zone will close their eyes and allow Rochas to move IMSU to Ideato. MBANU |

crazymod: The Rochas man get sense at all? Did he not understand that law on conflicts of interest doesn't permit him to acquire land and build such private university while he sits as governor of Imo state? He intends to fool people by saying that Palm University is partly state government owned. But he intends to sell whatever is government stake to Rochas Foundation. Rochas believes that Imo people are foolish. After his tenure as governor, he risks seeing his Palm University as Imo state government poultry. 1 Like 1 Share |

porrigeyam:Do you even know the meaning of Zombie in the community of janjawe.eds? Do you think that zombiesm refers to an ethnic group or tribe? No citizen Dullardin.ho. A zombie is a fake, a fraud, a hypocrite, a one way thinker, devoid of critical analysis, a goat bleating yes, yes; bla ,bla;to whatever scum that comes out of Daura or Bourdillon. There are Yoruba, Igbo, Igede, Fulani that are certified Zombies. There are also men and women from these tribes with foresight, who foresaw the dangers that these Zombies were leading Nigeria into. These people kept shouting, wailing , warning Nigerians of the scam and suffering that the broom wielding felons were about to inflict upon Nigerians. Instead of listening to them, they were branded Wailers or wailing wailers. So my dear Dullardin.ho, zombiesm is not an ethnic or tribal issue, but a state of mind. 3 Likes 1 Share |

SamuelAnyawu: Owerri zone does not own Imo state University. Any determined governor can still easily remove IMSU from its present ugly site in Owerri. There are about five universities and Polytechnics in Owerri, added to the one Okorocha is building in Mbaise. Blame Okorocha for changing to private university in Ogboko after Owerri zone had been quietened to let go the proposed transfer of IMSU to Ogboko. Deputy governor then from Owerri and other prominent people from Owerri had gone round telling Owerri people why IMSU should be transferred to Ogboko. Why has IMSU known no peace since it started in its present site?. 2 Likes 1 Share |

A CLUE TO GOV. OKOROCHA ON HOW TO LET HIS PALM UNIVERSITY BE IN PEACE IN OGBOKO. Let Okorocha use part of the premises of Eastern Palm University as a campus for some faculties of Imo state University and leave the remaining IMSU faculties in Owerri. With some faculties of IMSU sharing premises with Eastern Palm University, there shall be least moral force on people to question Okorocha's intentions. There may be difficulties in legal process to differentiate between the premises of IMSU in Ogboko and premises of Eastern Palm University in the same Ogboko. Reasons: at the beginning, the lands in Ideato now being used for Eastern Palm University were acquired on behalf of Imo state govt for Imo state University. If Rochas - Azuanuka- fails to do this, and believes that everybody, except Rochas, is a fool, there is likelihood that Ogboko shall have neither Eastern Palm University nor parts of Imo state University. 1 Like |

Rochas may not have done all he should have done but I am reasonably satisfied with his work. Owerri zone is greedy. How can all the institutions in the state be in one zone. Ohakim failed okigwe zone in this regard. Rochas has given Owerri town a face lift. He has done well in developing orlu zone too. Remember his first tenure when Nigeria's economy was good. He tried his best. Infrastructure, education and security. well whether you like it or not, the school has come to stay. Father of education. |

DONMAYOR19: It's not his own. The intension was to move IMSU but he met stiff opposition by some sections of the State after some money has already been invested. This option of having an alternate full University in Orlu zone is welcome. IMSU itself has witnessed great transformation. 1 Like |

debbie: He tried to relocate Imsu to Ideato as a permanent site. Owerri zone resisted it. To me it was not a bad move. All the schools in Imo state are in Owerri. The salary issue is not just peculiar with Imo alone. its just the effect of the shrinking revenue. His crime was starting too many projects at the same time. Rochas will be remembered for not finishing his project or poor management of his resources but not for failing to initiate a project. Posterity will remember him for good. Visit Imo before and after to judge him. |

BeeBeeOoh: There was no Christmas tree of 600million. It was a careless utterance by Ihedioha that was later exaggerated using blogs and paid agents. Cross River and Lagos also had tallest Xmas trees prior to Imo State in 2015. http://www.nigeriafilms.com/news/24394/9/rita-dominic-kate-henshaw-others-to-light-africas-.html http://crossriverwatch.com/2013/11/calabar-to-light-biggest-xmas-tree-in-africa/ As you can see Cross River had the tree before Imo and it was not politicised. |

debbie: ozoemenaca: Imo State today is the 2nd fastest developing State in Nigeria with the 4th busiest Airport. There is no reason for displeasure other than a falsehood is being sold that he is killing Biafrans or that he is a Hausa man converting Imolites to Islam. Any other claims is secondary aimed at discrediting his performance. Civil servants not being paid adequately is a big problem facing Nigeria at the moment and the only way out just that of fuel is to commercialise parastatals or even privatize them to become self sufficient with little subventions from Government. |

SnowJay92: The action of those people is strange to Igboland. Igbos love development and can give out land for a University very willingly like those villages did. The attack is obviously sponsored to prevent the University from taking off. I am so sure that politics has every hand in this. Igbos care less about compensation as long as the land is used for its initial purpose. The major debate here should be if Okorocha owns the University or its a partnership between Imo Government and him or other people. When he leaves office will he claim outright ownership? I doubt anybody can do such and get away with it. |

Abagworo: Imsu witnessed great transformation? I don't know if you are uche Nwosu in disguise. I am a student of the school and what transformation are you talking about? We have to come to school very early to secure lecture halls because the lecture halls available are not enough. Most lecture halls have a carrying capacity of 120, but when you have about 3 large department forced to take lectures in such tiny halls, what happens? You see over 400 students trying to squeeze in. Imo state university's library is like a poultry. So small it should be used as a departmental library. And the bookshop? Before Imsu, I didn't know bookshops could look so poor and unbefitting. The only 'development' Rochas brought to Imo state is countless fountains. Owerri fountains are so many, I suspect we are being advised to bath outside. Mr Abagworo, if you aren't a staff of Rochas, which I suspect you are. Please desist from blind sycophancy. But if you work for him, tell him we are begging him to atleast resolve the strike action. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Abagworo: Abagworo inasmuch as I would never acede to violence or lawlessness in going about grievances, you don't snatch people patrimony and ancestral inheritance in the guise of development, would you give the land owners stakes in the ownership of the university? Compensate them, even the federal government that owns all land compensate indigenous people for their land, no matter what it's being used for. You don't go around ruling like an emperor. The governors marginalization of ideato north from even the days of his first tenure in unrivaled, do you know that 80% of ideato north are not connected to the electricity grid for 5yrs running now? The remaining 20% are supplied from anambra state, funded by themselves. I don't know whether they're that irrelevant in the political equation because I don't know how you people calculate. In all, okorocha's performance in imo state is so poor and the state is stunted, evident in every sector, I don't have anything against his person or his interest, but only the truth can set us free. 2 Likes |

Chuksemi: Lynched, burnt alive, wiped out, over what? It's no lie that Okorocha has made Owerri a mega city. It's no lie that five of the state and federal universities and polys in Imo state are in Owerri zone : others have nothing. So why would you suggest lynch, burn alive, wiped out for the guy up there who said the truth? Okorocha by the way is the only Imo governor that agreed to build permanent structures in present IMSU site Owerri. Other governors have not built such permanent structures because they all believed that IMSU can't be in that site. Okorocha has indirectly started a permanent site for IMSU in Mbaise, but refused that to Orlu zone which merits location of IMSU, because Okorocha wants a private university for himself in Ideato. |
Re: Okorocha’s Eastern Palm University Destroyed By Angry Villagers by longayink: 5:02pm On May 19, 2016 |
Chuksemi: Controversy must forever follow IMSU so long as it is located in Owerri zone which already has FUTO, ALVAN, POLYNEKEDE, and IMOPOLY closest to Owerri, while there is no multi-faculty government university anywhere in Orlu zone of 12 lgas. Evan Enwerem from Owerri defied all oppositions and temporarily located IMSU in Owerri. More than twenty give years after, IMSU can't develop like other universities established same time because Enwerem defied nature and equity in Imo state. Whatever selfish interests for a private university which pushed Okorocha to deny equity and just system in the distribution of amenities, including government tertiary institutions, in Imo state, one day, Okorocha shall be out of power, Imo people must adjust for a just and equitable state. |
