5 Workers Seized By JTF Over Pipeline Bombing Released. by tritt(m): 2:59pm On May 19, 2016 |
THE five pipeline surveillance workers seized by the Joint Task Force, JTF, in the Niger Delta, last Friday, in connection with the bombing a Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, pipeline at Makaraba community, Gbaramatu clan, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, have been released. A security source told Vanguard that they released them on Wednesday evening. Released were Samuel Emiko and Alfred Timedi, ( Itsekiri) and Isaac Edinde, Henry Arogboritse and Kelvin Mordi (Ijaw), arrested by soldiers while on surveillance duty for a contractor to Chevron. Ijaw leader, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, who is among the leaders that raised dust over the arrest confirmed to Vanguard, “Yes, I am aware that they released them on Wednesday night, I want to thank you people in the media for crying out for us.” “The released workers were asked to report next Wednesday,” a security source, who also confirmed their release, told our reporter. He said: “The 19th Battalion, Nigerian Army, Koko, handed them over to the Delta State Police Command, Asaba, from where they moved them to Bayelsa State and released them on Wednesday.” To avoid backlash against the company following a 72-hour ultimatum by its seven Gbaramatu-Ijaw host communities, top officials of Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, which facilitated their freedom, met with their families, Wednesday, in Warri, and assured them that the company was handling the matter. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/05/5-workers-seized-jtf-pipeline-bombing-released/? |

You don't just pick innocent ones who are performing their legal duties because you want to please Buhari your dictator and commander. It doesn't work that way. Chevron would have waited to see what will happen on the expiration of the 72 hours ultimatum given by the 7 host communities to release these innocents. I felt rattled when some pro Buhari and anti Niger Deltans on nairaland without weighing matters, make cheap and silly comments that has no bearing. Am sure many of you must have been benumbed to hit your keyboard further, by this latest news. Thumb up for the seven Gbaramatu-Ijaw host communities for taking a stand. 1 Like |

Oh zombies! How long shall this government bring you shame and puncture your bragging ego. The community gave their ultimatum and the no nonsense dullard started defecating on his pants and released them immediately with fears all over his body. Zombies were shouting the community knows more about it and can go and release them if they can, not knowing that the dullard was already having nightmares with that ultimatum. 1 Like 1 Share |

lf they had been killed, the Nigeria Army could have labelled them the Avengers' leaders and some of us would be typing " well done our gallant soldiers" Bros pray against scapegoating and innocent victimisation. 2 Likes |

I was waiting for the ultimatum to expire, unfortunately Buhari cowered in. He's now really afraid, not business as usual. Other multinationals has been warned to leave niger delta. Waiting to see their response. Niger delta avengers are slow operators that disappear in thin air. Odi event cannot happen in this era, with widespread Internet and social media, the pressure will be just too high. Buhari will learn to cease to br a soldier, he's now a bloody civilian. Congratulations to my niger delta people. 3 Likes 1 Share |
