When pple were buying a litre of petrol @ N250 and even sleeping at the filling station to get this product, NLC did not deem it fit to challenge the government. Now that we are buying @ 145 with not queue and priviledge of sleeping in our different homes, NLC is protesting.

When pple were actually in pains, they were not there to rescue us, Chibok girls were Kidnapped, many souls were lost to Boko Haram, our politicians dey sup our money as if say dem dey take launch, NLC where u dey then?

In my own opinion, i see this NLC as an enemy of progress who want Nigerians to be in pains.

I wish there was a way for Nigerians to support labour online

I will donate any amount to ensure they continue fighting

You no know Abuja make you go throw your support!

The problem with change is that a lot of people who have become use to a mundane way of life, even if it is eating the very essence of their existence will resist it, no matter how positive such change maybe.

This present administration have some of the brilliant minds in its cabinet and they have so far been trying to come up with policies that will move the nation forward.... while most Nigerians choose to wallow in epic show of mediocrity due to them wanting to "eat their yams without it being cooked", I choose to see the big picture of the policies, especially as regards fuel, and dare to believe in the Nigerian dream of a great nation. We will get there, whether they like it or not. #istandwithbuhari

What NLC Did Not Tell Nigerians
The Opportunity Cost Of Fuel Subsidy Is National Growth: In 2013 Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Chairman of the Dangote Group approached the CBN to indicate their interest to invest in refining crude, such that petrol-chemicals, fertiliser and fuel shall be produced locally in Nigeria.
The three projects, which are valued at $14 billion (N2.8 trillion), areon course and will commence commercial operation early in 2018.The refinery located within the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Lagos is projected to refine 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
The Dangote Group is set to unveil the world’s largest refinery which will make Nigeria self-sufficientin petroleum products refining and also become a major exporter of oil.
This project will mark a turning point in Nigeria’s search for local refining of crude oil.
The fertiliser production aspect of the refinery would be completed by 2017.The time frame for the completion of the Dangote refinery from start to finish is estimated to be five (5) years. And the cost of building the refinery is $14 billion or N2.8 trillion.
The irony is that in 2013 when President Goodluck Jonathan performed the ground breaking ceremony for construction work to begin at the $14 billion ( N2.8 trillion) Dangote refinery, the Federal government spent N2.7 trillion on fuel subsidy alone.
This was the highest fuel subsidy bill in the history of Nigeria, as it rose astronomically from about N356 billion in 2010 to about N2.7 trillion in 2013 under President Goodluck Jonathan.
The administration’s attempt to cut fuel subsidy in January 2012 resulted in a nationwide crisis that crippled the country's economy for one week.
Moving on, the Goodluck Jonathan administration incurred over N2.5 trillion in 2014 and 2015 as fuel subsidy bill.
If we assumed that the country incurred a subsidy bill of about N300 billion annually from 1999 to 2010, this will amount to a cumulative of about N3.3 trillion in eleven years of civilian rule.
From the above analysis, it can be inferred that Goodluck Jonathan administration alone spent in 5 years, twice the amount of money that Obasanjo and Yar Adua jointly incurred as bill for fuel subsidy, in 11 years.
Now here is the thing: Dangote is building a refinery complex that will refine crude oil, petrol-chemicals and fertiliser with N2.7 trillion for local consumption and export, under five years. Whereas the federal government in 16 years spent about N10 trillion to subsidise consumption via fuel subsidy. This is excluding the multi billions that was spent on turn-around maintenance of the Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna refineries which till date are still operating at about 30% efficiency and installed capacity....******************
**********Before you wail at Great Imo Jonathan , I will like you to imagine how many industries 10 trillion would have produced in the last 15 years and the volume of people that would have been employed. To make matters worse, this 10 trillion is gone forever. And here we are again crying for that same criminal feeding bottle that is killing the nation.
We spent $30 billion in imported fuel subsidy between 2012 and 2013 alone, an amount of money which would have been used to build at least 20 refineries.
We can't continue like this, it is either subsidy or development.
If you hate competition for development through deregulation you are a lazy person.
Already, Kano based business mogul A A RANO has officially announced that hence forth he will be selling petroleum products in all his filling stations across Nigeria at the Rate of N107 per litre...Competition is good, removal of subsidy has started yielding fruits to Nigerians.

NLC Pres. Waba now wants to make a dialogue with the FG when he knows that their elephantine industrial and solidarity strike is not showing any sign of impact as Nigerians ignored their politically driven industrial strike.

The Industrial Court should fine Waba and his cohorts for defiling court's orders.

No broke people ill support downward spiral economic change because they have nothing at risk....

Maybe you're managing to earn 100k a month,, if up to that sef, so it doesnt mean anything to you when a vampire dictator who is as dull as his missing certificate causes dollar to go to 1000 naira

For those with millions and $ denominated bills, it affects our livelihood

I know this change is for the poor man with no brain in his head or finance in his account

The bible tells us that wisdom is profitable to direct.
When fools lead, the reverted institutions they preside over would be demystified and made a mockery.

Something tells me Ayuba Wabba, the president of the NLC was elected from the primary school teachers' affiliate of the Union. Those are the folks that hardly study to improve themselves but won't stop saying they are educated.

Divided house at its peak. I learnt that they took 2 billion Loan from past government after fuel subsidy protest in 2012 and it was not made public. Now they ought to have finished paying the loan last year but NLC never pay a dime but only TUC paid some portion. Now they wanted fg to write off the loan for the acceptance of new pump price. That's what caused the internal wahala among them because some accused the leadership of cornering the loan and embezzled it without using it for sure-p programs. In fact that was even discussed on channels TV this morning. You see that we don't have labour again.so many hungry ,pocket fighting fellows.
They are seriously divided ,fighting for their pockets

The labor leaders are just after their belly.

There was really nothing to protest with a strike then because the minister for state for petroleum, Ibe kachikwu kept promising the queues will soon be history even at 86.50. He initially promised May, then reversed to April and then arm twisted Nigerians with an unimaginable increase in the pump price. They trusted him and hoped for the best like every Nigerian. The rest is history. APC..All promises cancelled.
