I hope this people realise they are causing themselves more harm. They are bringing more pains to the poor villagers in that terain. Neither Buhari nor his ministers stay in Niger Delta, they do. So why purnish your people for the sin's of the govt if they have done any.....my tots though.

To the Niger Deltans, it is better the oil facilities are destroyed so that everybody will suffer what they have been suffering.

If you check the oil blocks allocations, you will see reasons for their agitation because it is mostly people from a certain geopolitical zone

The oil is in their land but they are not benefiting from it

If Buhari's government was ever serious about diversifying the Nigerian economy this would be less of an issue, the Niger Delta militants would have far less bargaining power. It is because they know that he has no interest in doing that which he says he will do that they can do this, safe in the knowledge that they will eventually be bought off.

you also need money to diversify the economy,as a matter of fact, you need huge investment. This budget is that of diversification but I doubt if buhari can fund the budget with the current trend.

You're absolutely correct when you say i haven't been there before. My post is blind to any kind of challenge to state authority from any quarter whatsoever. I am not a government official and neither am i a politician. All i have tied to do is inform you of standard government responses to similar situations worldwide and that i support it. I haven't given you my reasons for supporting it though

its a curse. The owners want to put an end to that curse. Why then are u complaining.

Did you not read my earlier post, was I complaining, I said the continuous destruction in the Niger delta is a welcome development as it will make Nigeria get off oil completely.

Mind you, the govt saw this coming, reason for the hike in fuel price, get ready for more increase in tax and tariffs for Nigerians. We call it govt suffering the masses but hey they are gradually getting off dependency on oil.

What complaints pls. If u can mention just one complaint that fg has ignored, maybe u will have a case. First agenda upon swearing in of the President was the clean up of nigerdelta. Something jonathan wasnt even bothered about. You have nigerdelta ministry, nddc, presidential committee on amnesty etc all looking into developing the region. The niger delta states earn the highest allocation in the country. All the oil companies in nigeria majorly target graduates from niger delta for employment (I know because i've been bounced before for not having delta as my state of origin).

So pls pls what more do they want What has fg done that is so terrible that they have to destroy the livelihood of the nation by resorting to bombs and also polute their own environment??

shup up jare
Right from the moment oil was Nigeria's main source of income the NDeltas have always been at the unfair receiving end and have suffered
Now its time for the whole country to share in the suffering together
Nigerdeltans have nothing to loose...their lands have always been polluted right from time by these companies... so before u talk, get ur facts right MFker

actually their method is the only method that can get govt attention.
Talking abt the complaints,
should we start with oil block allocation Or
Maritime university issue cancellation.

He also stopped d big boys from looting in d name of pipe line protection cos dey are also d ones stealing d crude oil.
PMB initiated d cleaning of Ogony land and he has said he is here not to loot but improve d infrastructure deficite but wat did we get from d criminals in d name of ND Avengers, bomb! Bomb!! Bomb!!!
Some persons here are happy forgetting dat those guys are only fighting for their pocket like Asari n Tompolo. Take a trip to Asari home town even Tompolo and u will weep for their communities, those guys amased wealth for ONLY demselves leaving their pple in same poverty.
Enough of Negotiation let's fight dis criminals once and for all so dat their communities can develop and we are will also have peace since God has helped with a President dat is not here to loot like d previous.

Dialogue? I prefer the government to take the battle to their land.

That is not a very clever option. Bokoharam has exposed the inadequacy of our military. This is not the northeast that is largely inconsequential in the stream of things. If the niger delta is enveloped in that 'battle' you are advocating, Nigeria's oil production will come to a standstill. Even the IOCs will abandon ship. Nigeria ll suffer. The bitter truth is that the niger delta is one region that can hold the entire country to ransom. Only 3 bombs and oil production is at a 10 year low

Oil will be back to $80/barrel before December. There will be more money for total annihilation of the irritants in the ND.

If they want justice, they should go after the oil fields owned by the northerners.

Blowing up general pipelines is an act of cowardice. Biting the nose to spite the face does not cure pimples on the face.

dialogue with criminals? Do you know what they are fighting? Are they avenging or fighting for resources control? Becos these are two different things. These guys are just operating within the realm of emotion.
Every agitation in the world involves emotions. It always arises when there is intimidation, harassment and neglect of some members of the state. It breeds tension, unpatriotic citizens and hatred. To fight it you have to dialog, understand the causes of such dissatisfactions and work towards eliminating those factors.
