I'm just tired of noise and smoke pollution from generating sets. With the latest carnage carried out by these guys. . .anybody's guess is as good as mine.

Buhari needs to listen to these guys. These guys are the direct opposite of whatever boko haram will ever be.

I don't know man. I'm just fed up with this pseudo-autocratic-chest beating-bluff calling style of governance being practiced by Mr Presidnent.

If Buhari's government was ever serious about diversifying the Nigerian economy this would be less of an issue, the Niger Delta militants would have far less bargaining power. It is because they know that he has no interest in doing that which he says he will do that they can do this, safe in the knowledge that they will eventually be bought off.
u think buhari is a magician abi,ur PDP could not diversify Nigeria economy in 16 years of their rule and u expert buhari to do in less than a year.

I don't know how the law works - in terms of oil companies being made to compensate the relevant communities for historic environmental degradation - but it seems that the obvious thing to assume is that they, oil companies, will feel absolved of all responsibility now. Nigeria will probably have to fund the cleaning up in future.

As for the politics of the thing, the problem lies with Nigeria's poor national security apparatus. Our military is too small and underfunded and policing is too basic. Nigeria is too vulnerable to negotiate. You cant negotiate from the position of weakness, you can only beg. Nigeria as the largest most significant black nation will never know peace because there are just too many extraneous forces bent on destroying her. We need a strong army and security just to begin with and we don't even have that.

I think the next stage is to get every elected person from SE/SS to sign some kind of pledge of allegiance to support this struggle or be removed or be killed if he/she refuses. This will be followed by tendering of a bill for the full implementation of federalism or division of the country in the senate. If Yorubas and Hausas refuse, then all elected and appointed persons in Abuja will have to leave the government.

One thing I love about you is the love and attention you give to the Niger Deltans. I can't believe we still have good Nigerians who'll forget their problems and solve another region's mathematical problems! You're such a sweetheart my dearly beloved!

Are you paid for your posts on Nairaland? I think so.

We the real NIGER DELTANS are not complaining. Only the cowards amongst us are complaining. Those it hurts are not complaining.

Let me tell you a story. In my own town in Omoku, Rivers State we have TOTAL E&P and AGIP. In the that small village o! Not even the main Omoku. And here Iam, a graduate of OXFORD BROOKES University, UK with no job for almost 5 years, and you expect me to be happy? (An Engineer for that matter with good grades).

I know it's a bad idea to depend on them, but if I don't who will? 49 oil wells in my small village yet all you see is mold houses everywhere.

We're all moving to Lagos. I heard they found oil there. Just keep my oil bloc ready! Because it's one Liberia or Nigerian (if that's what you guys call it).

I'm here to hurt nobody, but to express my grievances.

My name is iLegend, and I just want to make NO sense to the senseless!

iLegend.
u said u cldnt get a job after graduated from Oxford, let ask u what is the function of ur state gov, ur state allocation alone is x3 of my state ondo yet u people kept blaming fg and northerner for ur problem.ur leaders are ur problem not fg

any country that want to survive must first sit down and talk. like that the deeds of association is clearly spelt out; like that every citizen is made to believe in his or her country; like that the seed of patriotism is sown and nurtured. you don't lug a people of different orientations together, give them a written set of rules and expect them to respect and feel like a part of your "concoction" forever. sooner than later the quest for self determination will rear it's head and it stays until the needful is done. we may decide to deny this because the arrangement benefits a section of the country, but it is what needs to be done. until this is done naijeria will not know peace. devt will continue to elude the country...

I see many nigerians comparing North East to South South. Now the north East might be bigger than the south south, more populated than the south South but it is less important economically to Nigeria.Whereas the 6 states of the north East, provide less than 5% of the total revenue of Nigeria, the the 6 states of South south, provides above 75% of the revenue of this nation so any instability in the south south is bad to the economy of Nigeria.Buhari must stop his divisive policies before the economy of the nation, finally collaspe.Thanks.
