Exactly! This is why I didn't support their strike for now. There are loads of wahalas in the pipeline. Soon, it will be obvious that this current arrangement the fg has with oik importers won't work. After selling in naira, the marketers will soon discover that all the cash they made in naira is useless if they can't convert to dollars and get more products.

Something like this crossed my mind before.

How were they getting their forex before now?

Come to think of it, how much of our foreign reserve in USD did buhari convert to chinesse currency? Abi some importers can't import pm's from china?

Smart! We should start yielding fruits of that China deal now. If USD is giving issues please let go the Chinese way...

They no longer have the monopoly. That's what the deregulation is about. You sound very smart nd I suggest you go into the business, act like a real business man nd source for the dollar through that genius means so dt Nigeria will be better for us all.

Which genius means?

Don't u get it? U can not offer what u don't have. Na d koko be dat, Ee no dey be say Ee no dey.
No amount of geniusness will save u from either getting @ CBN rate for un banned goods or getting from the parallel market.

U are a businessman, u want to make profits.
I am d exchange guy(i change money @ black market rates), I also want to make more profit.

And there is no way I can sell to others @ 345 and then sell to u @ 200. A difference of 145, assume u are exchanging 1million dollars, that means, I just lost 145million naira, while u will gain everything (Ekwe na bia, oo ndi be unu ka ndi be anyi mara ihe?).

U all will be looking @ sourcing outside naija. Don't forget about money laundering and risks associated with armed robbers, assume u want an equivalent of $1million in Benin republic currency and u can't access dollars in naija, more reason u are going to Benin, abeg multiply 1million dollars by black market of 345, can u carry 345million naira across to Benin republic? Or u can u carry billions of Benin currency across the boarder to exchang it with dollars in thier country? That is too risky.

As a good business man following the real chain of production. I will jejely buy the dollar @ naija recognised parallel market rate, import my goods, and den channel every cost to the final consumer, wetin concern me? That is d legal way of doing business, and another thing u do is considered illegal, @least not for mow wey pmb is fighting corruption and u will be encouraging it under his nose. Na sack for u.

So, my brother, if u truly understand this gbege very well, u will know that the importers hands are tied and na we masses go suffer am.

I am in a business to make profits, anything other than that is being a father Christmas, who wan do father Christmas for this kind economy?

When will we have a lasting solution to all these endless problems?
So long as dollar remains scarce at the parallel market, or fluctuates drastically then the so called N145 /litre is not feasible. At this point, maybe we should back the NLC o

Did I not say it? I told y'all that this is not feasible. I said it that once these marketers are done selling the old stuffs they've got, we will be back to square one. The fg goofed by putting fuel price at the mercy of forex. Once dollar prices increases, fuel price will definitely increase.
Once the marketers can't get cheap forex, they will fold their arms and expect the fg to either provide forex for thenm, or allow then sell at their desired prices.

We are in for a long thing!

Of course it is the CBN duty to provide forex to foreign businessmen. There is no black market in any other country ooo. However, once they start earning dollars from crude oil export, they will be able to provide dollars at official rate. If the dollars were even provided now at official rate, the real pump price would not be up to N100 per litre.

I am only PRAYING, that CBN is not doing dubious business with forex by sending what they have to black market at a deal cut while black markets go on to bleed importers. EFCC should investigate how CBN manages forex.

As oil marketers begin to source for their own foreign exchange from the banks and parallel market, the rise in the exchange rate will be astronomical which will be passed on to the consumers. Nigerians should brace up for tougher times. The problem with this dispensation is mental laziness. Instead of sitting down to think and provide workable solutions that will make the life of their citizens better, they roll out quick fixes that worsens an already bad situation and from their comfort zones they tell the hapless masses that it will have to get worse before it gets better. We all know that the only people suffering are the poor masses. This government does not feel our pain. We must demand that the government do the job they are paid to do. Go back to the drawing table and come up with meaningful solution.

Bubu is the only one in Nigeria who is not corrupt.
Bubu and his daughter Zara are the only one entitled to Forex.
Bubu is the only one entitled to travel 4 times in the month without question.
Bubu is the only one who is a saint in this government others are noise makers.
Bubu is the only president I know with a controversial school certificate result.
