frenchwine: Did you just immigrate from Alaska? So you were not aware that under the previous administrations, the CBN auctioned dollars to Nigerians through their banks in bi-weekly auctions. Stop speaking without saying anything, which economic policies would liberalize the forex market? The simple truth is the government does not have dollars to sell anymore. You also can earn dollars whichever way you can (don't engage in yahoo yahoo) and sell to marketers. they would appreciate it. 1 Like 1 Share |

"We do not want to come back to you to ask for foreign exchange differentials which issue we still have pending from previous transactions," he said. This is fraud and corruption right there. Buhari must hear this. |

Interesting. It appears the new #145 is as the old #86.50 per litre; where NNPC sells at official price, while other petrol filling stations sell above the official price. With challenges of FOREX to continue if polices don't change, NNPC petrol filling stations will sell at #145, while others will sell above. Maybe #150 to #200 or more. This PMB administration is 'funny', making mockery of intellectuals living in and outside of the country. |

I no tell you, they took advantage of this price hike and brought out all the fuel they refused to sell, they have made double gain. Now that they have exhausted their tanks, the chicken has come home to roost, forex is scarce. Nigerians should brace up for longer queues is care is not taken. They stopped FX for reasons best know to them, but it has all come to bite us from our behind.

stanech: Oh oh! So u no know before? Unfortunately, we allowed ourselves to be convinced that Buhari is an alternative to Jonathan. Jonathan wasn't good enough but he could have been replaced with someone who is conversant with modern day economics and governance. Today's leaders ain't importing no grass from Brazil to feed their cattle somewhere in Africa. Buhari's ideas are outdated. That's if he has any ideas at all, beside fighting corruption. . We are in deeper shit than we realized. I pray God will help the president. 1 Like |

Well, I didn't abandon it because of anyone, I abandoned it because I was scared, u know the tales of cold and all that, just subtract 12years from my current age den u will understand my fears, my sis was the one that brought up the idea of leaving naija in d 1st place to our papa, she was strong, but I chickened out. |

SycophanticGoat: Sorry if u think it was, I meant, the cancelled, I was just being sarcastic. Well, @ that time, I had always think that things were that easy, I always think that I will always have so many chances. It is not too late yet, but if I had left then, things would have normalized for me. As for now? Even though I am catching up with naija (street wise). I don't think leaving is an option for me. I wan follow milk the economy dry to the last drop. No be only politicians waka come nah, we ma, we still follow. |

Re: Oil Marketers Lament Forex Scarcity, Fuel Scarcity Imminent by wordychap: 7:30pm On May 21, 2016 |
obailala:There is crude to swap. D govt gets 0.58 of every crude production Even at 1.4 million barrels, govt has over 800,000 barrels of crude money to self 1 barrel of crude gives approx 160 litres of fuel 250,000 barrels of crude will give us our daily 40 million litres consumption For a swap deal, 350,000 barrels of crude will pay for our daily fuel consumption, besides d govt. still makes profit from its sales since subsidy's been removed. 1 Like |

There goes the fraud again, the federal government sets dollar parity naira at approximately N280 for oil marketers and subsequently jacks fuel prices to N145 per litre benchmark. These marketers now wanna put the government in a tight corner where CBN still has to source FX for them at N199. So what's the yardstick for the hike in pump price? And who are these oil marketers? Your guess is as good as mine - friends of government! 1 Like |

Since Nigeria must import fuel. Let them enter a bargain with China to refine crude for them and then import with Yuan. 1 Like 1 Share |
