Other tips: *make sure you buy and wear the "as ebi".* If you have Ankara, Semo is almost 95% sure for you. *Ask for your portion if they don't want to serve you. *I agreed with that generosity with praise I was at a wedding engagement party last week but the serving style was an error, as God would have it they mistakenly place a tray with about five plates of party jollof beside me while arguing away situations, I just stretched my hands and picked two plates, passed one to one mama that had not been served and devoured the other one, when they started shouting don't take it... I said do you want hunger to kill person here? The second day was a wedding reception of my HOD's daughter, and they are in good morning. When I got there, some people were already leaving and another oga ordered food for us but the servers just kept saying OK they didn't bring anything. I just rose up with my benbe tommy (am close to term), and really everybody wants iya 'Beji to eat. I was immediately served, got to where drinks were, but none was available, fortunately the best lady was there to pick something and I just admired her and said hers will be more glorious, after telling me the bottled water had finished (that's what I care for at parties, not sugar coated drinks), she dipped her hands in the icing drum and brought me water. Issue is if they go home with most of those things nah waste sure pass... 1 Like |

Lol. Party jollof is bae. Next time I go to Nigeria, I won't come back until I've found a wedding invited or uninvited to attend. And I won't leave the venue if they don't give me rice. 5 Likes |

I attended this wedding with a friend. Well, we were invited by the groom. Food wasn't served on our table, and we angrily left. It wasn't a serve yourself party, so we had no option than to leave. Groom was too overwhelmed with the party and had no time for us. This made me to invent my own style at any party where you get served. It's pretty straight forward.. I always assume the position of either the groom or bride's family any time I go to wedding parties with my friends. I would normally go straight up to where the ushers are (always well dressed and looking dapper) and 'command' one of them to follow me with food to my table. The way I approach these ushers automatically convinced them that I must be very important to the wedding. They always obey without questioning. One tried questioning me the other time. I told her to call me her boss. She immediately apologised and comply. 2 Likes |

I discovered at Nigerian weddings that We (Nigerians) are all the same.We criticise the elites of the society that they use connection to fix people up but wait till you see connections in Nigerian wedding when you can't have the small chops without knowing someone. I once saw a table with about 10 people but with only three people having the well prepared starters and don't simply care about the rest on the table. You simply have to hustle your own food. 2 Likes |

anigold: This is not the issue of being a gentle man, it has to do with the way the celebrants, their relatives, friends etc recognise or treated you. Ushers too notice this even without been told. 1 Like |

lol, NSG don come again. But it's a two step process for me 1. Watch the delicious and aromatic rice pass you by like 5 times 2. The next time they're passing by, stand up, block him/her like a goalkeeper and collect one plate. Lolz, see correct guy,I'll surely try dz nxt tym,buy I don't pray d usherin team ignores me! |
