Hello everybody, cultivating plantain is a business activity, agribusiness is a business like any other. I am warning people not to keep selling cultivation of plantain, agribusiness in general as an easy thing to do and get wealthy. As any other business, you should do your own research, educate yourself about the activity, make a road map of your the activity you want to do or business plan.people talk about the demand of plantain flour, but no one is capable on providing any clear data on plantain flour consumption.Or how much does it cost to produce or mange 1 hectare of plantain? how much does it cost to sell plantain bunches from one hectare? and what is the cost of production of one bunch of plantain? which variety grow best in your region, and what is it cycle of development? These questions need to be answer by anyone going to agribusiness. The cost is variable from one region to another. Beware of those people just writing from what they have read without any analyses. 2 Likes 1 Share |

farmerspolice: Who.made you farmers police by the way. Show nairalanders your farm pictures and farming experience before you can make yourself farmers police You have no farm,no experience,no knowledge about agricbusiness and you are arresting. Get a good job and Get a life! What agribusiness experience do you have, to castigate farmers in the agric section as i have seen some quote attacking other farmers on various threads. This job given to you by your paymaster will.not pay you on the long run. Your best bet is to spend your precious time building your.mental capacity and engage in activity that will help your future. I just checked your profile and i noticed you open the account yetrday....i wanted to by-pass your comment but i feel the need to leave some statements with you. Thanks for your effort @lesgupnigeria. I want to ask you a question here. how much is dried plantain chip sold per kilo and where can I sell it to? Just as you have encouraged on processing plantain to flour, and you rightly talked about the cost which is even higher these days of increased pump price and unfriendly economic condition, I am planning a half way processing line which will stop at drying. so i wish to sell just the dried chip. If I can be successful with that then i can complete the production line to milling and packaging. But let me know the current price of dried chips per kilo. |
