Residents at Ikeinghenbiri community in Southern Ijaw council, Bayelsa are fleeing the area following a clash between rival armed groups at an oilfield operated by Eni’s Nigerian subsidiary Agip Oil Company (NAOC). A resident said Sunday that the groups were struggling for control of the Ogboinbiri-Tebidaba crude trunk line which passed through the area. Mr. Ebidimo Joseph said that residents were scared and were leaving to neighbouring villages for cover. “We understand it is a conflict between two armed groups for the access to the crude pipeline, one group claims to be working to safeguard the pipeline and said the other group are vandals; they have been shooting. “The sound of the gunfire is scary, and there is no sign of the Joint Task Force soldiers who are supposed to be patrolling the area, we have not seen any soldier,” Joseph said According to Joseph, the pipeline was set ablaze while the two groups engaged each other in the gun battle adding that there was no way to ascertain if there was any casualty yet. He said that a thick ‘cloud of smoke’ had enveloped the community and polluted the atmosphere in the area. Efforts to get comments from Col. Isa Ado, Spokesman of the Joint military force deployed to protect oil infrastructure in the Niger Delta were futile as he declined to take calls to his mobile phone. Col. Ado also did not reply to text messages requesting for comments http://saharareporters.com/2016/05/22/residents-flee-rival-militants-attack-eni-oil-pipeline-bayelsa 1 Like |

Buhari is a certified failure. The country is now in chaos because of his parochial and stubborn attitude. No one should blame the militants, Buhari is to blame. 91 Likes 11 Shares |

It's another ONE....DJ Khaleed Buhari how market Militant groups springing up every where and bombing any available crude oil or gas pipeline all cos of the divisive and triblaistic, ethnocentric gworo chewing, buruktutu drinking, and Economic assassin President called Buhari. By the time Crude oil production in Nigeria drop to an all time low by June next month cos of militancy, which will now cause the Economy to experience full blown recession, cause electricity supply to drop to an all time low across the country, and cause millions of jobs loss n force business to shut down, which will also affect many APC zombies, then Buhari n his bad advisers with their APC Zombies supporters will now know that Nigeria is sittting on a key of Gun powder that is about to explode. Buhari n his bad advisers think to rule Nigeria is by Gra Gra. 110 Likes 13 Shares |

Buhari, a little advise for you: the best way to reign in insurgency is to recognise one group, give it powers, negotiate with it, and let him keep the power as long as it annihilates all other insurgents. Take your pick: MASSOB, IPOD, NDA, MEND or another one you can even create yourself. Any other move, one nigeria is a gonner. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Do these people have elders that commands respect, they could listen to? Blowing up pipelines is rendering the environment unsafe to inhabit. No clean water or good soil for planting will exist in those areas. No president or senator, including the senator representing twitter constituency, shall come and live of invest in that environment. Note that previous bombings has only yielded a result of enriching a few(tompolo and the likes), and a few that were sent abroad for training. Time to sit up and find another way to press home their demands. It should also be for the betterment of the whole area. 26 Likes 4 Shares

And the Jonathanians are ecstatic... now Nigeria is being made ungovernable for buhari, but the folly lies in the fact that blowing pipelines affects the entire citizens of Nigeria, not just some villagers in the north east. 24 Likes 1 Share |
