Geogranite: Conversation between a PCM and the DG
ME: good evening sir. DG : How are you? Me: I'm fine sir, sir right now you are my father. DG: Yes! ME: sir, I've stayed at home for two years and my parents are becoming more and more worried about me serving, sir, i have 3 questions to ask you sir and I hope you will be truthful to me sir DG: I'm listening Me: 1. When are we expected in camp sir? DG: By grace of God, if not this week we are entering, the upper week Me: OK sir 2. if we are to camp by next week, it will run into Ramadan period and.... cuts me short DG: that's another thing I cannot answer, because you know that Ramadan is gonna be a problem in the sense that I have to call my management team, to come together, i will now table the problem then they will fix the date, If they say we should do it during the Ramadan no problem we will, but if they say after the Ramadan then it is off my power. all I am saying is that first of all let me collect my logistics before I now call the meeting to hear from them. Are we clear? Me: we are clear sir, he cuts me short again DG: my problem now is if I can get all my logistics on time, the boot, the uniforms, if they finish everything. if it will fall during Ramadan I will ask them can we run it during Ramadan, if they say yes, fine and good, if they say no, we will have to shift it till after Ramadan, depends on them. Me: Sir, after Ramadan will be like 2nd week of July that means we will automatically be batch b. DG : No, it can't be batch b, batch B are not coming till October. even if u reach July, you are still batch A. whatever it is we are going to merge you with stream 1 ME : OK sir 3. there was a message someone sent to me in the morning concerning changing the state of deployment, is that true sir? DG: it is not true, what you have on your call up letter is what we are still going to maintain only that we change the date. that's all. Me: thank you Sir, you've been helpful DG: God bless you why should the caller be reminding the DG about ramadan again, is Nigeria an islamic nation? Is nysc a relgious organisation, why should a national/state event be stalled because a particular religion is observing fasting period. I tink people are just giving this ramadan more popularity than it deserves... 2 Likes |

So why are we giving them the chance to use dis one as an excuse. happy Sunday OPEN LETTER TO THE DIRECTOR GENERAL (DG) NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS. (BY:ALAO JOHN, A CONCERNED PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBER)
Dear Sir; SAVE OUR FUTURE STOP WASTING OUR PRECIOUS TIME
With due respect to your office and your personality sir, it would be insane of me if I fail to congratulate you on your appointment as the Director General (DG) National Youth Service Corps few months ago by General Muhammadu Buhari (President Federal Republic of Nigeria). Haven said that, this letter is necessitated and borne out of the untold suffering, heartache and hardship prospective corps members had encountered in the last few months since the beginning of postponement saga. I felt obliged to tell you sir that " A minute delay can result to a lifetime regret not to talk of spending almost a year at home anticipating for an inconsistent scheme called NYSC.
Sir, many has resigned from the menial work they use to keep the body and soul together with the believe that its about time to serve our Father's land. What sicken me most is our inability to secure a better employment without NYSC dispatch certificate which is being demanded from us by employers in many organizations and parastatals. More so,many prospective corps members can not further their education because of this delay. It is pertinent to let you know that we are being forced to stay idle, and an idle hand they say is the devil's workshop. Our precious time is being wasted by awaiting an inconsistent system all because of our curiosity and ardent desire to serve our Father's land in humility, patriotism and good faith. How long shall we continue to wait? How long shall we continue to hope? How long shall we continue to anticipate earnestly? How long shall we be subjected to unwarranted impediment? Our patience has gotten to its elastic limit. The hardship in Nigeria is so unbearable for us and it will be inhumane to be punishing the youth and leaders of tomorrow by promising them to continue to wait for what seems to be uncertain and this is not in the best interest of Nigeria graduates. Sir, we can no longer wait for NYSC to determine the course of our future. As we are awaiting a new date yet to be fixed, it would be another rape on our right as Nigeria graduate if the time frame is so elongated than a week from now. In lieu with this, as a concerned prospective corps member, I hereby urge and plead the management and staff of National Youth Service Corps headed by your good office to feel our pains and save our future by putting everything in place and in shape so that BATCH A STREAM II corps members can be camped in not more than a week time. Sir, we know you to be a father and your magnanimous magnanimity is what we expect in this imbroglio in order to save our future because we are the leaders of tomorrow. A timely and urgent intervention is what we crave for. A STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE
God bless The Director General National Youth Service Corps. God bless National Youth Service Corps God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Thanks Yours Sincerely Comrade Alao John. A prospective corps member and a redefined activist. Write from the state of sober reflection. Email: Alaojohn75@gmail.com Facebook: Comrade Alao John Damilola.

I'm with you on this....pls my fellow PCMs we can do this all we need is just to narrate our ordeal to any of the human right activist lawyers and bingo our voice will be heard...... pls if u have any of activist lawyers contact u can drop it online for those of us who will like to call them. hmmm! You made me laugh. Do we need to go to human right activists' houses one by one to beg them? Are they deaf and blind? Is our ordeal so personal, secretive and inaudible that we need to tell them. Have they no eyes and ears to see and hear our slights. There are no serious human right activists out there. The existing ones are political sycophants. If they are waiting for us to come and meet them. They goofed. Our destinies are in our own very hands. We are our own activists. Lets continue it the way we have been doing. Lets go to twitter, facebook, and every other available social media platform. Lets tell the world of our statutory apprehension. Lets us be united because of recent, dichotomy have crept into our mist. Lets kick it out. Lets unite and go for the heads of our enemies. |
