IT IS NOT NORMAL.

Sorry for yelling but that is the severity of what you described, unless you have a low pain threshold...

The pains that radiates around the scar site are ghost, not painful, just a slight feeling of discomfort & occasional "peppery" sensation if skin rubs on skin... any kind of major pain is not normal.... seek an experienced gynae's opinion.

Also check for appendicitis and adhesion of any kind.

Cc zaynie, how is our Atinuke.

It's okay to yell .... It is absolutely not normal & I can say my threshold for pain is not low.

Skin does rub skin there especially when sitting down....Can that be enough for this discomfort?

Sorry about this, it could be nerve or tissue damage caused during the operation! Most doctors will tell you to bare it, some will even say you are making it up ( that's why its sometimes referred to as "phantom pain" ) there's nothing you can do per se as it comes and goes.I still feel intermittent pains at my site but you all know mine was more complex! My doctor gave me diclophenac to deal with the pain. They can't open you up again to correct it so you just have to live with it and try to avoid sharp sudden movement or lifting heavy things. Hopefully it will correct itself in the near future! Sorry once again for the discomfort.

Am so guilty of "sharp & sudden" movements. I will still see a doctor again for another opinion. Thanks sis.

Cos da kain pain I'm imagining, you suppose don reach osibitu oo. wink

Atinuke is fine. Alhamdulillah.
Crawls like she is in a race and always behind the door ( probably on her way to look for me), so now we have to yell " is she there?!" before we open door. Lol.

Let me muster up the boldness to ask this...

I've always been strongly against taking herbal medicine in pregnancy. Even the one a friend gave me to take in 1st trimester, i threw it away.
My mum just sent me fever medicine(agbo) and said it'll help clear my system totally of fever and prevent jaundice in my baby. I insisted she shouldn't send it but she kept reassuring me that she cant send what will harm me and my baby.
I'm team #NoAgboInPregnancy but is she in anyway right? I don't want anything to happen later and she'll say shey i told you to take the medicine.

Agbo is medicinal....every medicine is good until it is abused by either under/over dose.
Medicinal plants have one ishh....we never know how much of the active principle ( d real medicine) is present ....in which species?....found where? Dried for how long? Under direct sunlight? In the presence of some maggot laden flies perhaps? Used to scratch a itchy back? Boiled for how long? Mixed with what? Prepared by who?
For example, agbo for fever from A is different from that from B. Unlike PCM that is same every where.
These unanswered questions are why we are adviced to avoid agbo and not because it is 'traditional'.
Agbo cured me of typhoid when I was younger. Drinking the soursweet concoction for weeks helped. But I wasnt pregnant....or breastfeeding.

Besides the recent rise in occurence of kidney and liver problems has been linked to agbo drinking.

So yes while agbo when prepared hygenically is good, I wont recommend regular drinking in large volume for anybody. I will most definitely never encourage a pregnant woman to drink it at all.
What are you trying to prevent? No pills for it?

If you really ask momcy, as in ask her well well, she will tell you its one "oversabi" that prescribed it as a sure banker that your preggy will be top notch.

@Tyconcept, seek a second opinion from a government hospital.

Re: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by Nobody: 12:42am On May 23, 2016
My bs

It might be lengthy, yes cos I really want us to learn from why government hospitals are still better off.

I have for a few times mentioned here how displeased I am with the private hospital I was using for my antenatal, it's one of the best gynea wise in sl. And to say he managed me well during my early stage of the pregnancy is an understatement.

Now to the issue: he was not careful to analyse my scan reports and was just hammering on 'you will have to go thru a c section'. Money is not the issue with the process as my company usually pay ahead of the procedure.

All the while I asked the MD to explain why I have to go thru a c section he neva gave me good reasons for it so I concluded he needed the money and I concluded I will have my babies in LUTH even if I have to pay from my purse. My husband wasn't happy and was like why will I have our babies in LUTH where I have to pay. My response was ' free thing dey run belle atimes'.
Fast forward...........

Why LUTH at last?
My consultant in LUTH had requested I do a scan and I kept postponing it until she asked me not to visit till I provide it. Finally I did the scan and submitted it on the 5th of May and was told the result wasn't a good one and thaat I have IUGR with the leading twin (till I left they still can't explain why as it's not common for a leading twin to be very smaller compared.

What!!!? I searched to know what it was and Google don't feed me with pleasant info. I became sad, sad that the private hospital never knew this in all the scans they did, sad that he never really mind all the parameters in the reports but just shouting csection.

I was immediately asked to go on admission in LUTH and my Inlaw who is a doctor asked that I follow all instructions given in LUTH and never mind whatever I will be spending.

I wasn't ready to be admitted that thursday, went home heady, angry, sad, and couldn't even pray cos I was like why me again?

Friday: I packed my stuffs and informed my hubby to be at alert. Left for LUTH with just my handbag. Paid for my admission and proceeded to where I was referred to be on bed.

By 11:30pm, the labour started. Is this what they call labour pain?

Fast forward- was transferred to labour ward and the real pain stared. Got checked and was about 3cm gone.

To saturday 8am: was just 4cm gone, all this while my bp was about 180.was placed on drugs to manage it but was not helping. Was fluctuating btw 150 to 180 so a decision on not risking my life and that of babies own was made. Note that, I was not dilating further, just remained at 4cm. And with the IUGR report we all concluded my LIL girl needs to be saved.

5pm on saturday: I was wheeled to the theatre.

My girl who is the leading twin weighed 2kg and the boy 2:8, almost 1kg different!

The implication was that, while twin2 was measuring normal gestational age, twin1 was 5 weeks behind.

I thank God I used LUTH, I still have in mind to go to the private hospital to see the MD and express my displeasure. They should have noticed the IUGR with the leading twin if he had carefully analysed my reports all the while.

My advise: if possible, use government hospitals and let private hospital be there for jsut in case of strikes.

Recovery for my girl: she is recovering fast, eating well and very strong. I just thank God for her.

Godmother, is it painful...unbearable painful or just painful? Cos abdominal cramps in all 3trimesters is normal unless it is eye-turning or with bleeding.

It wasn't so painful, just uncomfortable. My doctor said the same thing that I should rush to the hospital if the pain starts to worsen but so far it seems to be subsiding.

Thank God for you. Like iomoge2 already said maybe the doctor in the private hospital didn't tell you because he didn't want you panicking. Anyways, everythin still turned out alright which is what we pray for.

It's Urgent Please

I had my guy (Mofe) in October 2015 via CS....I adhered to all instructions given by my doctor in respect to treating the operation cite, the cite closed up neatly within 6wks and all was well save for minor pains around the cite which I thought would go with time....Fast forward to March 2016, I started feeling sharp pains around the cite but no opening of any kind when I checked, I ran to the hospital and was sent to do a pelvic scan, result showed nothing to worry about, doctor said I should relax....The pain is back again and this time very unbearable. I feel pepperish kind of sensation around the cite like my insides is ripping open yet no visible tear on the outside..

Am confused and scared.....Anyone with a similar experience should please help me. I can't afford to break down now.
