This is not a case of "they didn't consult with me, so me too will not consult", or any kind of tit-for-tat. It hasn't brought about lasting peace.

If I was governor and there is a problem in my state, I would seek for long-term solution what work in favour of my state. I could care less what policies are made in other states (I was elected to govern my state). If some of those solutions mean turning the other cheek, then so be it. I would be happy to engage my Northern brethren and governors to bring lasting peace, economic growth and prosperity to my state.

If my state becomes successful enough, then my indigenes won't have to seek opportunities in hostile environments. What we need in Nigeria is more collaboration between states in the different parts, and that won't happen if we continue with "they did this or that, so we too are going to retaliate" mentality.
