Both have their advantages, however, if someone is planning to build a professional blog or website, I would suggest WordPress over blogger.

To me, Blogger is more of a beginners platform, and to be quite honest, I think the only reason many people choose it over is because they can post ads and affiliate links on the site. Otherwise, many of the benefits of a Blogger.com blog are right on the level with Wordpress.

I would also go as far as to say that offers more of a community. Wordpress itself publishes content and highlights users on its platform as a way for bloggers to further connect and gain exposure. Blogger doesn't do this, and I don't think it ever has.

True, a person is free to decide for themselves which platform to go with, but if ever asked by a client I would recommend Wordpress.
